Hello agian

Miller's first day of pre K 4.

It has been so busy around here. We are on the go all the time. Miller got sick night before last and I had to slow down and it was so nice....not that he was sick but that we stayed home for two days and just laid around....today we are still laying around...nice!

So I have been on an exercise kick.....working out and walking....I havent done much exercising this week since Miller has been under the weather. When you dont work out you know it!

I have been taking a fiber colon cleanse pill and I can tell a difference in good and bad foods....does anyone know anything about fish oil? I have heard that it is good to take. Since our bodies need that fish Omega....and we dont eat near as much fish as we should that the oil is good for us...I may do some more research and let you all know.

the week is winding down...we have alot going on......if I told you you would roll your eyes...but some how we manage it all....

I hope you are all doing well....

Tuesday chit chat

Good Morning...I have my pumpkin spice creamer in my coffee this morning....yum! Today's plans are cleaning another room out...and going through the house to clean..walking my 2 miles...cooking a nice dinner and smiling because I'm blessed....thinking about baking too...everyone's blogs have something great they have baked this past weekend on them.

So I'm going to do the kids Christmas pictures this week downtown...I'm taking them...say a prayer. No really I have their clothes picked out to wear for the pictures...I just need some time to get down there to do them. Time.....something we want so bad..but rarely have for ourselves.

Does anyone else do their own Christmas pictures? What theme do you go by and colors?

Where in the world have I been????

Hello! I know I skipped the whole month of September....where did it go? We are on fall break and just staying home...first time in years we didn't go anywhere...we just decided to rest this time.
I'm going to take some rooms in the house and clean all the closets, cabinets and drawers out...a good fall project for me.

We have been running crazy. Madison has been cheering and we are so happy to say the 7th and 8th grade are going to state....!!!! SO we will be traveling up to Lexington last weekend of this month to cheer our boys on to state champions!!!! So So proud of them!

Miller is playing fall tball and soccer...Scott coaches the soccer team and helps with tball. We are quite the busy family...but this week...we only have gymnastics. So this is good. Madison is getting her hair highlighted this morning....and Miller is playing trucks in the family room....

I'm going through fall recipes pulling out soups and chilies.....yum! Pulling out quilts and buying cider.

The pool was closed yesterday a sad moment of summer time being over....but smiles when Scott cleaned up the fire pit and pulled it on to the deck...smiles for cozy nights outside roasting hot dogs and making smores!!!:)

Not a whole lot going on here...just normal busy life stuff....what are you all up to this fall?

Last days of summer

Today is gonna be so hot around here. My husband works outside and I worry about him alot when it gets this hot.

This week Madison goes back to school. Seems like I just said we are out of school. Makes me sad. But the school supply's are bought the new outfits are bought...so I guess we are ready.
She has cheer practice the first day! So she will be worn out once its over.

Today she is getting her hair highlighted and I have some errands to run. In between running her everywhere I need to make a list of cleaning some of the house. My hard wood floors need attention!

Tomorrow will be laying in the pool and enjoying each other. Once school starts those days are done. She is happy with her teachers and team she is on. I pray this will be a better school year for her. Last year was tough. A learning exp. This year I hope and pray she finds who she is...who her friends really are and not worry about the small stuff...that is my prayer for her.

I'm still doing my Jillian Michaels Making the cut work out...today is day 9. I've lost 3 1/2 pounds...working my butt off. It's not easy!

Have a great day!

I cannot believe school will be starting in two weeks. I just cannot believe it. We went back to school shopping for supply's the other day. Still need to go for clothes I guess. That will be an all day event.
Today we have a play date at the movies and the new Chick Fi La. They have a new awesome play area. Going with my sweet friend and her daughter. I enjoy our talks. She is the kind of friend who you can just sit and say nothing and walk away smiling.
Working on my next meal planning. trying to plan out of the cabinets right now...I have so much meat and canned goods and fresh veggies in the garden...why not.
Madison has gymnastics tonight...so I'm running as usual.

Summer Bounty

There is just nothing better than BLT'S. Esp when the tomato is out of your own garden! That's what we are having for dinner tonight! I'm frying bacon as I type. Our garden hasnt gone as planned this summer...our green beans got eat up while we were on vacation by Japanese Beetles..:(

Our tomatoes have grown but are taking their time turning red....we have 3 rolls of them. But I finally picked our first red one last week....I wish they would hurry up I wanna make some sauces!

We have 2 watermelons....last year they were not great...hoping this year they are. Our cucumbers are out of control...I dont pickle..so I'm giving them away like hot cakes. Our squash and zucchini are wonderful.....I cant keep them...I cook them up daily!

Green bell peppers are great...I'm freezing them. AND of course my spices are great....

What is in your garden this year....and what are you doing to hold on to it?

2. Spending three days at home after we got back. Me and Miller and Madison did not leave the house for 3 days...and we were content!

3. My garden. It's producing all my wonderful bounty for the summer. Yum! However some kind of bug got my green beans so we pulled them out..but I put back enough last fall to get us through another winter! My tomatoes should be turning soon!

The trip

So the ocean was gorgeous...no oil or tar balls. This is actually Mexico Beach. We got up at 5 am to go sea shell hunting...they have the prettiest shells.
We had 4 days of rain..but it didn't stop us from getting our toes in the sand everyday...someone once said...a bad day at the beach beats a good day at work. I have to agree.

We took the kids on a pirate cruise. It was so fun. They took us several places on the gulf. They entertained the kids and me and Scott got to sit back and enjoy the sunset.

Miller took swim lessons last year and he swims like a pro now. He just jumps in and goes. Best $120 I ever spent!

He is a fish.....I'm very happy both my kids can swim!

Our week at the beach was short lived. We swam, ate great food (I had fish tacos for the first time..yum!) we shopped, we toured, we did it all.....a great week. Great memories.

Monday, July 05, 2010

Where in world have I been????

The family on the Pirate Cruise!

Wondering where I have been? Enjoying summer. I thought I would be blogging more..but I barely have time to clean house. The kids have me going to the movies, swimming, small trips, eating lunch out....and its only July!

Here is where I have been....

The pool of course...we are in it daily...mostly afternoons

The beach...just got back. Went for a week before oil hit the beautiful beaches...we had a great time!

Picnics....with friends.

Lunches with friends.

The movies

Alot of play dates. Alot!

Coming up we still have cheer camp...soccer conditioning....fall tball.....and fall soccer.

I'm trying to enjoy what is left. We go constantly.

Madison goes back to school in a month...which to me is crazy. Miller goes back in a month and a half....and that seems crazy as well.

As for me...I'm trying to keep myself exercising. Walking 2-3 miles a day. Doing yoga. Sit ups.
Watching great shows on tv....taking care of my garden....and enjoying my family. We still have a ton of stuff left to do this summer. I'm going to try and keep you all informed...try is the word. You know what its like to come off of vacation. I'm tired....need to clean my house and finish un packing. I need motivation!

Hello rain

Good Morning. It's raining cats and dogs here today. Which is fine with me. I have no where to go. Miller finished his last day of school on Tuesday and he is officially on summer break. Today we are going to finish up our Strawberry Jam and clean the house...I may get Miller to start helping with chores. At least picking his stuff up and maybe dusting. I have been looking at new recipes for broadening my food Blog....I'm going to work on it more after May is over and things slow down a bit.

We got some sad news yesterday. A close friend of ours was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. Our hearts are broken. It has spread to the liver. We are just praying for a miracle. We cried alot last night.

Madison has only 3 days of school left. I know she is so excited. I will be too. She has alot of things going on this summer. Alot of camps to go to and little trips.

On her last day of school I will be blogging about fun things to do during the summer. I took a poll from some friends and got alot of ideas.

Hope you are having a great day.

Chit Chat

Okay so dont pass out. I know 4 days in a roll. Told you I was trying to get back into my writing. It's been awhile and life gets in the way. This week is quickly coming to an end and I'm glad as it has been a busy crazy week. Tonight Madison's soccer team goes to the Championships for the winner...we won last night in a nail biting game. So tonight we will battle it out for the trophy and the title of the Best.
I'm going grocery shopping today. Mom gave me some old cooking magazines to look at for the summer...alot of them are grilling recipes..as we do alot of this in the summer.
The pool is in and done...the deck is being built. It should be finished today...I hope. Then we can enjoy the deck and I can start getting it together with flowers and deck furniture....yeah!
We have a crazy weekend...but I will save that for tomorrow to talk about.
Miller has only 2 days left of school and Madison I think has only 6. I'm ready to have them home!
I get to have lunch with my momma today...that will be our last lunch without kids till August...I enjoy spending time with mom.
I have a ton of laundry to get done. Being gone everyday and night this week I have slacked. No complaints yet from the family..I guess with me getting dinner done...they dont seem to care.
Well I need to run and get in the shower....talk to you tomorrow.

Tid Bits

Dont pass out..yes I'm blogging two days in a roll. I had some time this morning so I thought after I packed Madison's soccer bag and packed Scott's lunch I would sit down and blog. May is so crazy here as I have said in previous posts....I will be glad when this week is over, choir concerts, soccer tournaments, pizza parties, tball games and practices, soccer award ceremonies you get the idea.

I'm getting nervous for our beach vacation in June. The oil spill seems to be getting closer. Although I'm not sure it will reach where we are going...but still there is a possibility.

I have been emailing some friends of mine looking for summer fun ideas for me and the kids..I know we put a pool in last week but there will be days when we are sick of it or it is raining...I have a pretty good list that I'm putting together and will try and post the last day of school.

Scott's grandma is home finally. She is doing much better. She had fallen and they had admitted her and we assumed she had a stroke...NO...they had her doped up on Loratab....well this drug must be fierce as it took almost 2 weeks for her to get her memory back and no what is going on in the world. I was furious. We still have a long road ahead of us so keep us in prayer please.

My cousin Ashley gets married this weekend. This is the daughter of my aunt Glenda who passed away almost 2 years ago unexpectedly. That was a hard time for my family. This weekend we will have the entire family here...first time since the funeral. We have a huge family. My mom has 8 brothers and sisters and their kids and so forth....it will be a tear jerker...but a good one!

I guess that is about it....today Miller goes to school and I'm coming home to clean the house and start tonight's dinner. Madison has soccer practice after school and a choir concert tonight...life in the fast lane people!

Hope you all are having a great week....talk to you soon.

Where are you summer vacation?

So April is pretty much over by this weekend and my life is spinning out of control. Have you ever felt like everyone needs something from you? I feel I go every day and cannot control anything. Look at what I'm talking about...

1. Soccer practices for Madison everyday from 2:30-4
2. Games for soccer 2-3 times a week from 4:00 to 6.
3. concession duty for soccer at least 1-2 times and tball concession
4. Miller soccer practices are one time a week from 5:30 to 6:30
5. Miller has soccer games every Saturday morning
6. Tball for miller is every Friday night from 6-till dark
7. Tball games are two times a week..sometimes overlapping Madison's games
8. Chiropractor appointment for Madison once a week after her soccer games
9. gymnastics one time a week for Madison
10. Church on wednesday nights and sunday morning and nights.
11. Playdates one times a week sometimes two for Miller

And if we are lucky I get to go to the grocery store, eat lunch with a friend and cook dinner...sometimes we dry off from a shower in beach towels....but that is just how busy my life is....that doesnt include the garden I need to plant, appointments to go to and cleaning my home...which is very neglected. I'm tired people.....I'm looking forward to May 25th the last day of school...the last day to run people places the last day to freedom...the last day till I can fall into the couch and fall asleep and not worry about having to be up to pick a kid up and run.
When school lets out that Tuesday we are taking a vacation from life......for at least 2 days. Did I mention I'm tired?????????????

Where in the world have I been????

I cant believe I havent posted since March! I have been gone. Things have been so crazy around here. We went to New York City for Spring Break..WOW~! Such an amazing city...so different for this Kentucky gal! We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and walked to Times Square and just walked until night time....eating dinner at Carmines...so good in the Theater District. Thursday we were up early and gone...it was hot...record breaking temps people..92! I sweat and I'm sure we all smelled some. We took a tour bus that was called a hop on hop off bus and it was so so so cool. We saw everything we wanted from this bus for 2 days. We went to the Statue of Liberty and toured Ellis Island..such a good thing to do at least once! We saw upper Manhattan and lower...checked out Trump Towers...did the Today Show where we met Meredith! Such a sweet woman...she got her picture with Madison! Saw the Empire State Building..went to Ground Zero which was so emotional....tears to our eyes....brought that whole day back... ate cupcakes at bakeries in Greenwich Village and sweet little cafe's in Soho. New Yorkers are not like me though....they are on a mission...they go go go go go ! We went to Radio Music City hall....and just wondered Broadway and ending our adventure with a musical.

New York city is an amazing place to visit. So many possibilities lie here. But this Ky gal....is happy to be home...happy to be running to soccer practices and tball practices....happy to be home with her family.

I plan on trying to get back into the swing of things my friends....bloggin one of them...right now I'm on the deck with a glass of ice tea trying to get some sun.

By the way Madison made the cheer squad yet again for next year.....Go Madison....

Talk to you soon!

One door

So this week like the past couple of weeks have been fast and crazy.Last week was so scary and critical closing that door and opening this weeks door was so easy until Tuesday. I thought this week would be a little less stressful... it wasn't. Let me explain it...

Tuesday...was spent running errands and picking Madison up from soccer practice. When I arrived she was setting out. She hobbled over to the car and all I could think of was....what has she done to herself...she got into the car and said while running... her hip just gave out. GREAT! So we went home and made an appointment with our family chiropractor.
She applied ice and laid around whining all night...she is good at that.

Wednesday...I took her to the chiropractor and he took x rays and I looked at them. Her hip is 2 inches out of alignment...which is making her spine look like te leaning tower of Piza. And her tail bone is broke. I just sat there...with cheer try outs in 2 weeks....I looked at him and said...Can she be fixed in 2 weeks? He asked why...and I told him of cheer try outs. He took her out of soccer this week to rest her hip. Games are not for 3 weeks so its better to have her at 100% than 75%...He told me he would have her fixed by then....but we had to listen to him!
So he adjusted her...and she came home hurting...we applied more ice and Ibuprofen.

Today...went back to him. Adjusted her again...she is feeling much better. Just taking it easy from physical activity.
She is going on a church retreat this weekend. So I still need to pack her stuff....go to the grocery...do some laundry and clean the house.
I guess I will do this tomorrow...because right now. I just want a glass of wine and dinner and to watch some UK Basketball with my spouse.

Say a prayer she feels better soon please.
I need a quiet weekend....some down time...no drama.

Like I said before...when one door closes...another one opens...esp with children and life.
