Some things going on around here

We woke up this morning to alot of rain. I'm so glad it is finally raining. We haven't had much rain this summer and it has been hard. The humidity here has felt like 105 and it has been unbearable even to go to the pool at times. Maybe this will cool things down for a day or two...or maybe not.
Today we are taking a friend to lunch for her birthday and running last minute errands for Madison's party for tomorrow night. She is pretty excited. Back to School Registration is tonight. She seems to be ready though. Middle School is so tough on kids now a days. It scares me. School starts in 6 days....can you beleive this? Summer is almost over for her. She has done alot this summer though, camp, the Nashville Zoo, a fantatstic water park in Santa Claus Indiana, she has helped with the little ones at church, we have gone thrift shopping, gone to the movies, pool pool pool and golfing and and and and ....I think her summer has been pretty good.
I have to finalize some of the consignment clothes so I can get them down to the store Saturday morning. Guess I need to run...have a great Thursday everyone!

Let's Talk over Coffee

Well the Pampered Chef party went well. I'm hoping to get some great things free....yea! Did I tell you all my wine fridge came in and Scott installed it. It looks really great. I only have 2 bottles of wine in it though. Oh well...I'll eventually get more.
My garden is growing so well. With such great veggies to pick. Maybe I can get enough tomatoes to can some this fall.
My cold is still here and lingering on. I took daytime sudafed and wow thought I was on some kind of wonderful drug the other careful with this one. I woke up with an awful headache this morning so I'm hoping the Advil kicks in soon.
We have some errands to run today. We need to run to the pharmacy this morning and to the mall for a birthday present and a back to school outfit.
Dinner tonight is Salmon Patties....mac and cheese..fresh tomatoes from the garden and fresh green beans. My dad brought them over this morning....yum yum!
I'm walking with my gal pals tonight so hope you all are having a good Tuesday!

For Today

Outside my's hazy this morning and humid. The sun is trying to peak out amongst the hot air. All my blinds are still closed.

I'am thinking........of going for a morning walk with Miller

I'am thankful friends..we had a girlfriend retreat this past weekend and we re connected..something all women need to do. It was nice. It only lasted 24 hours but we enjoyed each others company over...Lasagna, laying at the pool, driving Kawasaki Mules over a 100 acres and watching the sunset over the Ohio River, several bottles of wine, mojitos, taboo and Steel Magnolias...what could be better?

From the kitchen.....Scrambled Eggs and Sausage...with Cinnamon toast

I'am creating......invitations for Madison's Back to School Swimming Party Friday night.

I'am wearing.....Light blue pajama pants and a light blue tank top..bare foot and hair in a bun.

I'am reading......Cookbooks

I'am hoping.......for a good turn out tonight to my Pampered Chef Party.

I'am hearing......Miller sing.

Around the house......I'm cleaning floors and baseboards...I'm having a Pampered Chef party at my house tonight and need the place to be clean.

One of my Favorite Things.... A greek salad with feta cheese and a glass of wine....while sitting on the beach watching the sun set.

A Few Plans for the rest of the week.......a birthday lunch with a friend, a night at the park to see the movie Goonies, registration for 6th grade, Madison's back to school party she is throwing for her friends, a day at the pool with friends....dinner with friends....and some walking..hopefully some naps thrown in there too.

I dont have picture again.....but yet another summer thought...our schools start back in less than 10 days...I told Madison we need to enjoy every single minute. And that is what we are doing. Enjoy your children. Remember what it was like on your summer something spontaneous and fun with them.
For more daybooks...go see Peggy at the simple woman....thank you Peggy for hosting this every Monday. I enjoy it so much!

Good Thursday morning everyone. Thanks for your well wishes and prayers on my sickness. I still feel crummy, so keep those prayers coming please.
We went to the pool yesterday and had a nice sneezing relaxing day. Madison did okay in her golf tournament...she may not be a pro but she does her best. We didn't go to the drive in as I got the movies mixed up so we will go next week. I didn't feel too hot anyway so it was better off. I went to bed early.
Today is grocery day. And Madison has a sleep over tonight and her first cheer practice today so I will be busy running errands. Dinner tonight will be Crock Pot Enchiladas.....yum yum..and so easy.
I have my grocery list together. I'm tired though and think I need to lay down and rest before the day starts.
What are you doing today?

Chit Chat

We have been eating alot of fruit lately. Strawberries, Watermelon, Cantelope.....cherries....blackberries....we love all of it. Miller could care less though. He prefers pretzels.
So the week is just flying by. We went to the movie yesterday and Miller lasted an hour in it...not as bad as I thought. We left and went to Walmart for school supplies. $50 later.....and then went to Arby's....actually we went though the drive thru as I had NO MORE ENERGY to fight the kids. Then we came home and took naps. I was totally exhausted. I woke yesterday morning with a soar scratchy throat....this morning I'm stopped up and my throat is still soar....I'm on Claritan....and taking a leftover anti biotic....I dont want to get sick. My girlfriends get away is Friday afternoon....I need this time!
Madison is in a golf tournament today and it's guest day at the pool....and tonight we are going to the Drive In to watch Wall E. Dinner will be there.....yummy burgers and greasy fries at the drive in theater.
I hope you all have a great day. Stay cool.

I'm normal again!

Good Morning.....I have pictures...some at least.....I'm so happy. My friend Karen @ Over the back yard Fence had her sweet son Joe help me with my blog....I'm normal again. Thanks Joe!

Today its raining. Thunder and lots of lightning. Madison is supposed to go to a local water park with church today...not sure about that. Miller and I are going to the movies to see Charlotte's Webb this morning. Madison may be joining us. I have some errands to run today also.
Lunch out too I'm sure. Lunch is such a struggle for me with a 2 year old. He wont sit still and I'm so frustrated by the time we leave.

I hope everyone is well today. I'm making BLT's for dinner with fresh tomatoes from my garden. Yum! The humidity is still crazy here and I'm hoping the rain cools us down today. I hope you all have a terrific day!

From the kitchen......we are going to have Chicken and Dressing with a side salad. I'm getting my menu plan in order as this week is grocery week. I'm also making a cool dessert for the week...cookies and cream....
I'am creating....a clean home for my family. Monday I normally stay home and clean and wash.
I'am going.....Nowhere today....we are cleaning.
I'am wearing.....bone colored pajama pants and a lime green tank top..and bare feet.
I'am reading......A Postive friend....
I'am hoping.......Madison's ear is feeling better as she has had some swimmers ear from last week.
I'am hearing......the birds chirp outside.
Around the house......beds need stripping, the floors need cleaning, laundry needs caught up, and bathrooms need scrubbing, the garden needs attention this morning.

Saturday Morning Talk

It's early this morning. I have my MOPS retreat going on. We will be discussing the entire year and I love doing this. I will be gone all day. We met last night for dinner and fellowship and it was nice...we have a goal.
I was told last night by one the girls on leadership with me that when she came to our group I was the first one to talk to her and show her around. (I don't remember this as I'm Hospitality Leader and I talk with everyone) But she told the ladies last night when I introduced myself there was an energy about me that wanted her to know more about Jesus. She knew by the way I carried myself I loved Jesus and wanted the world to love him too. I have never had anyone say this about me or to me....I was speechless...for once.
For today please pray for our MOPs group that we can lead more ladies to Christ and that they can learn to love Jesus as I do.
I would work 100 Saturdays if I could lead one more woman through that door.

Have a great day everyone....I'll report back on Monday on our new and exciting year of MOPS.

A great recipe

What a week we have had. We have done the pool for 4 straight days. I'm burned...and tired. Today is a down day. We are hanging out at home and taking it easy. Madison has big plans tomorrow with church and my leadership retreat begins tomorrow night. So....we need to do some laundry and clean up around here.....I'm having my cup of coffee with caramel creamer...yum.
Scott has been working late alot. The kids are missing their time with him. I havent watched my soaps all week. I have GOT to catch up.
So no plans here....I' m going to leave you all with a great recipe I made earlier in the week. They were a huge hit.....let me know if you try them.

Snicker Brownies

German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1 1/2 sticks of butter..melted
4 Snicker Candy Bars

Mix Cake mix, melted butter and eagle brand milk together. Pour 1/2 of the mixture into a 9X13 greased pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Then remove from oven. Cut Snickers into bite size pieces. Put on top of the cake....and then cover with the rest of the brownie mix. Bake for 20 minutes more.
Scott loved these....enjoy!

Have a great Thursday everyone. We are hanging close to home. Enjoy these last summer days.

Lazy Days of Summer

It's another beautiful day here. The humidity is still low. But will climb Thursday into our weekend.
I'm looking forward to the pool today. We went yesterday late afternoon after nap time. Today we are going this morning. Leaving after lunchtime...Miller is learning to kick in the water. And becoming more independent in the water too. I'm doing some laundry and will clean up around the house this morning before leaving. Dinner tonight is Taco Casserole....and Sun Sweet Tea.
I need to run by the vet for dog food before we go today.
Tomorrow Miller goes to mom's to spend time with my parents...while Madison and I go to the pool again. We are getting our money's worth this week there.
Other than that keeping up on the house and swimming. That is our summer days right now. The summer is coming to an end and we are living it up every day to the fullest. We sleep in and stay up late. How is your summer going?

Weekend talk

So we are going into the weekend. We have had a nice quiet week. We went to the pool with some friends yesterday. Ate lunch at their snack bar and helped Miller jump off the side of the pool forty billion times. It was all good though. So our plans for today? Grocery shopping and some errands. Madison isn't a big fan of days like this. But they have to be done. So tonight we are going to spend some time with friends. Tomorrow we hope the sun will be out so we can go back to the pool and just rest and enjoy each other. Sunday is church and back to the pool. But if we get some much needed rain then who knows what we will do.
I have been in and out of the garden all week picking so many veggies. And we got a new coffee pot that grinds your own beans...yum yum! I got some coffee beans yesterday afternoon and they are so good this morning. Esp with my Caramel Creamer. The kids are watching Spongebob Square Pants as I type. I should go get in the shower and get going.
Dinner's this weekend are going to be....tonight..eating out....tomorrow night.....pork chops on the grill with fried okra from my garden..and grilled squash from my garden and fresh sliced tomatoes....yes from my garden...dessert is going to be strawberry shortcake.....yum yum!
Sunday....I think I will do Scramble Burgers and fries.....something easy.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Summer is 1/2 over and I cannot believe this. So enjoy those long summer nights....they will be gone before we know it.

I heart of my favortie places to eat at...and drink....the drinks are fab...and the happy hour between 2-4 are even do you like Sonic?

Change. I don't do well with change. Even if it is good. My life is based on schedules and the kids. So when change interferes I cannot handle it well. I try to handle it the best I know how. I enjoy planning things and having things go my way. When someone jumps in there with another idea I take it as insult rather than helping. I should know better but you are the way you are. Although life throws us so many different things I try and handle them the best way I know how.
How do you handle change in your life? Don't get me wrong...I adjust eventually. Get over it...calm off....but it hits me hard at first...whether it is a change in going to the grocery..a trip....dinner plans....or even not getting up before a certain time in the morning.'s here to stay. Whether I like it or not.

Another Week

Outside my's sunny yet muggy....all my neighbors are coming home from their weekend get aways.

I am thinking..that today is the first day in awhile we dont have any plans...except for the Bacholettet coming on tonight...season finale..whoo hoo! I also cannot beleive I slept until 9am this did Miller...we must have been exhausted from teh weekend.

I am thankful for..the house we fought so hard for a year ago and now live in...the freedom we have that we just celebrated for and the wonderful God that loves us unconditionally.

From the kitchen....Barb's Pizza casserole and side salad with fresh veggies from my garden and my uncle's garden....pecan pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert left over from the weekend.

I am creating....a clean home for my family to live in.

I am going...not sure yet....who knows..maybe a morning walk.

I am wearing..a prurple Old Navy tank and striped pajama shorts

I am reading....a Journey magazine with devotionals and going to try and start the Mommy Diaires.....anyone read this yet?

I am clean the utility room this gets out of hand so fast.

I am hearing....the dog eat....and Miller talking in to my ears to hear him put words together that I finally understand.

Around the house..beds will be stripped and bathroom needs scrubbed...its trash night....and maybe peanut butter cookies this week.

One of my favorite things..watching my kids chase fire flies in the dark barefoot while eating ice cream.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week..a nail appointment, visiting grandparents, going to the pool, grocery week, my brother is coming home for a visit....maybe the library....and the drive in theater to see Kung Fu Panda.....and walking with friends.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with pictures are still not I have nothing...sorry.
I need 2 year old advice. I realize this wont last forever...but it is summer time and we do need to go into public on Miller wont listen to me in public..he runs from me and if I get on to him he yells at me and screams. This just discourages me from taking him places....I need help moms so lay it out for me.

Good Morning. Today we are heading out for hair cuts and mini manicures. We have a MOPS playdate at a local spray park. And lunch with Scott's mom. I'm needing to get in the shower. The pool was fun yesterday. Miller did well.
The weather this summer has been so beautiful here. Is anyone watching the Bachelorette? We love it. I was rooting for Graham but think she will pick Jason. Anyway.......we have been walking every night. Trying to tone up.
We are going to the Farmers market today too. My tomatoes are not ripe yet and I need some.
I also need to pick up some flags.....for the front yard.
Dinner tonight is Homemade Pizza on the grill with a side salad of my fresh veggies again...yum yum.
Have a great day everyone...summertime is just flying by us......I'm really enjoying it though.
