My Anniversary

13 years ago today we were married.....in the church I grew up in. I planned our wedding in less than 2 months and it was perfect. I had the perfect dress.....the most wonderful wedding party a girl could ask for. My best friend stood up with me......and yes we still talk. We actually talk quite often. Walking down the asile that night is a blur....however I do remember focusing on Scott and when I got there I thought to myself...he is the one. And I was right....he is still the one. I'am the luckiest girl alive. Happy Anniversary babe. I love you.

Thursday 13.......

13 Things That Are Going On In My Life Right Now!!!!

1. Not the picture I have down loaded........I do however have 2 massage gift certificates and no time to go.......I know I need to make time...but really I have no time.

2. My house may sell this weekend...and I only have one house on the market to go look at. The one I really liked....not so good now.

3. Madison has gone back to the doctor with upper respiratory problems....she is however back at school and not contagious.

4. Miller is running a low grade fever...now.....I just cant catch a break...this could be teething since the top molars are coming through

5. Soccer Practice starts tonight for Spring soccer.....2 hour practices 2 times a week...and we travel on Saturdays to surrounding counties...some as far as 2 hours away...

6. My dad is in Florida on his golf trip and my mom's back is out so I'm cooking for her every night and trying to keep Miller off her as much as possible.

7. Miller went to his first play date today...he had a ball. He was so cute....played with basketballs and hoola hoops the whole time.

8. Madison has 3 plays coming up...I'm so confused on all of them...I don't know how she keeps her lines straight in all of them...makes me a nervous wreck.

9. It was 65 degrees here yesterday and Miller got to play outside for the first time since summer....when he was very little.

10. I have some friends with "issues" right now and I just pray for them and hope things go okay for them.

11. I do love my television..I know this sounds crazy...but when things don't go my way or I'm stressed I can always watch all my shows and feel at ease....my little time away from life.

12. Today is grocery day and this means Miller goes to mom's for an hour....or so .....a little time to myself.

13. My dog needs his toe nails clipped somehow I will have to tackle him to get him in the jeep along with Miller and drive to the vet to have them clipped because I cant do them.....and chase Miller around the vet...wish me luck.

Have a Happy Thursday friends....

Only My Life

Well, they called back last night and want to see the house again with their parents and a contractor....I guess to make sure everything works right. I'm getting very nervous. I'm still going to look at the one house for sale by owner....and another just went up on the market today my real estate agent sent to me. So I guess we will look at both of these.

By the way...Madison is sick again. I think with either Mono or Bronchitis.....we go to the Doctor in the morning.....only my life!

Just some small talk

The showing went well yesterday. I have never cleaned a house like I cleaned and de cluttered this one.....EVER! They loved the location the price and everything about it. We will see. They moved in with her parents last night they are kind of in a situation. I did however tell them I needed 45-60 days notice. No contract has been signed and we have 3 other people wanting to see the house. I don't even have a fore sale sign in yard...for me this is kind of sad. This was our first home we bought...my children have grown here. Selling and purchasing anything over $1000 is huge for me. Do me a favor people pray I can get through this......

I'm not doing a meal plan this week.....Madison is home from school today and my mom is coming over tonight to cook dinner with me....and I have a crazy week..so I didn't do one...but if you would like to check it out go on over and see my friend Laura....I think she had close to 100 last week....

Today, we are taking flowers to the cemetery for Papaw Dub.....Madison hasn't been back since he died 4/20 last year. So we thought today would be good..the sun is shining and its beautiful out.

No cleaning on this house....since it's spotless. I'am however cooking Chicken Enchiladas from Allrecipes...this one is great...don't miss it. I'm posting it below.

I hope you all have a great Presidents Day......talk to you tomorrow.

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken breast meat
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 6 (12 inch) flour tortillas
  • 1/4 cup milk

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a large baking dish.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and saute the green onion until tender (about 3 to 4 minutes). Add the garlic powder, then stir in the green chiles, cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Mix well. Reserve 3/4 of this sauce and set aside. To the remaining 1/4 of the sauce in the saucepan, add the chicken and 1/2 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese. Stir together.
  3. Fill each flour tortilla with the chicken mixture and roll up. Place seam side down in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl combine the reserved 3/4 of the sauce with the milk. Spoon this mixture over the rolled tortillas and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly.

Girl Talk

Good Friday morning. The sun is shining here today and I have to clean my house really good. That's no fun. The high this morning is 8. Yes...I'm serious. I'm going to start cleaning here in a little bit.....windows, blinds, floors, bathrooms, me and Sue got the Utility room done yesterday and then she organized my kitchen cabinets...yes Laura you would have loved it! My kitchen and Utility Room look great. I need to get my bedroom finished...it's a mess.....I'm having the carpets cleaned tomorrow...while we take Madison to acting lessons.....she has a back hand spring class also tomorrow...no soccer...winter is over and Spring Soccer begins next weekend.....I'm getting ready to be very busy...we did however decide not to do Volleyball I thought it may be to overwhelming for us.

I wanted to thank everyone for my responses on Cliques.....it helped me out. I wanted you all to know...my friends and I go out of our way at activities and during class to talk to these people and involve them.....but when we need down time from class we go out to dinner and have other things in common and we enjoy ourselves...I have however decided to give it Jesus and let him handle myself and these other people. I cant sit around and worry myself crazy over it. Right?!

There is a house we like for sale by owner. We are going to its open house 2/25.....I hope it's what we want....I really like the pictures and outside...4 BDRM 2 1/2 B.....living, dining, kitchen, big utility room, sun porch, in ground pool, with fenced in back yard, 2 car garage, on a corner lot. Nice neighborhood.....so fingers crossed and say a prayer it's meant to be.

Madison is out of school Monday...looking forward to this. My dad is going on his annual golf trip with his buddies this week. This has been an on going thing since the college days for them. So mom is taking me and the kids to lunch Monday and running around to some museums....should be fun.

We went out with friends over the weekend and had an absolute blast...doing karaoke and dancing.....stayed out late...but it was so much fun. We have a great time with each other.

Me and these same friends are going to plan a trip together this summer 3 days 2 nights....somewhere....not sure where yet...but it will be great.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and stay warm.

Okay so I have some people coming to see our house on Sunday afternoon......I need any or all of your advice before they get here.....any tips are greatly appreciated.......I'm a little nervous there is nothing out there I really am interested in buying...so anyway...I'm going to boil orange slices with cinnamon and cloves on the stove before they get here and will shampoo carpets on Saturday....touch up paint is going on as we speak and my friend Sue is helping me today with the last of the decluttering. So...anything else let me know......I need any advice you have,
Thanks......getting nervous.

Happy Valentines Day Friends!

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

Today I want to talk to you all about my fantastic Sunday School Class. We came to this class about 3 years ago. Without it Scott and I would be lost. The friends....they are our family. We formed a wonderful friendship/bond with about 8 couples....we eat out once sometimes twice a month with them go to the gym with some of them, go to lunch with them, talk on the phone with almost all of them weekly, do things with our kids every other week. We love one another, pray for each other, do things for each other...enjoy each other,we cook for each other, watch each other's kids, have drinks together, and we would all drop everything for one another......here is the problem.

We have been called cliquey in class.....I hate this word clique. Hate . It. People have left the class because they say we are so cliquey......this hurts our feelings...we go out of our ways to call these people, talk to them in class....ect....we dont ask them to go with us on some events seperate from Sunday School Class...because we dont feel a bond with them. But we do however include them in class things....we dont consider ourselves snobby or cliquey.....we are friends.....we have formed bonds that have touched us all.

So I need some advice on how to handle this...what to say what to do.....I'm tired of being known as the clique.....we are great friends....so why is this so wrong? Why do we feel like the bad guys...why cant we be friends? Why cant we do things outside of class without the others getting jealous?

Works for me Wednesday...Love Edition

When Shannon said she was going to do a Love Edition Theme....I thought it would be a great idea.
SO to read about more Love Advice.....or Making Valentines Day Special...go on over to Rocks in My Dryer.......

Valentines Day at our house is filled with lots of love. Madison and I are making Chocolate Suckers this year we already bought the chocolates and molds. We are going to give them to her classmates. Also we are dipping pretzels with White Chocolate and drizzling pink chocolate over them.....these are verrrrry good...and great gifts for teachers. We decorated her Valentine Box already and got some great heart material at Walmart with glitter and fur....we are making cookies with heart shaped cookie cutters and decorating them for grandparents and neighbors.

Advice on relationships.....we have been together 14 years...13 years on the 26th of this month...communication is very important, respect, and laughter is very important. We keep it honest. Yes....we argue......but if we didn't it wouldn't be normal. We say we love you everyday too. Scott is the love of my life...we try to go out at least once a month.....we enjoy each others company. He is my true Valentine....

Happy Wednesday everyone and enjoy your Valentine this year.

A shower maybe?

When is a mom supposed to get a shower? I never got one yesterday......sick kid......and this morning I had to wait until the hot water came back since Scott took a 20 minute shower and then left....I have a 14 month old that only takes one nap after lunch a day now. I cannot get into the shower and let him have full reigns of the house. So I beg and plead with Madison to hurry up and get ready so I can get a shower. I dont dare ask her before she is ready...or she wont get ready. So I make everyone breakfast.....clean it all up......get a back pack ready for school.....get everyones clothes out for the day including mine....change a diaper....or two.....make a couple of juices for Miller to drink and make sure Disney is on.....make sure beds are made.....clean out the coffee pot....lay out dinner.....and clean up cheerios off the living room floor for the fifth time since 7am. All I'am asking for is to get into the shower for 10 minutes before everyone leaves me to go off and live their life. Is this too much to ask for.......?????? So when do you all get a shower with little ones? Or do you stink?

Just another Manic Monday

It's Monday and this means planning out my menu with Laura over at Organizing Junkie....go see her!

Tuesday......Chili and Mexican Cornbread

Wednesday.....Talapia with veggies and rice

Thursday........Madison has a Mother/Daughter Banquet at school we are going too. (Scott & Miller will eat Pizza)

Friday..........We have a soccer meeting with the parents and Madison has an activity at church...so not sure this night....sandwiches maybe.

Saturday.......We have a Valentine Banquet with our Sunday School Class I'm planning...it's catered....with a DJ

Sunday.........Italian Beef Sandwiches with provolone cheese, and chips

So it's Monday morning......and I want to be in one of these chairs up above with a tropical drink...munching on fruit. Sounds good........well, let me tell you what I have been through since we last talked.
Friday afternoon consisted of me taking a shower and getting ready while Miller slept....it was nice felt like I was single again taking my time and all. Then Madison came home...4pm. My girlfriend was to pick me up at 5:30 for Girls Night Out. Madison was as pale as a ghost.....really. I took her temp and it was 101.7......at 4:40 it was 104.8 yes again.........so off to the bathroom we go drawing luke warm bath water. I'm getting to be a pro at this....maybe I should go to nursing school....anyway....it took 30 minutes to get it down to 102.3...but it did...while this is going on Miller is standing on the other side of the gate to the bathroom crying because he cant get in...Scott is still at work. So at 5pm I call my friend and yes cancel. I headed the whole darn thing up and I cant even go. I'm so sick of sickness by this time I could scream. So I put her in bed and pour myself a glass of wine turn Barney on for Miller and start to have a pity party for Jen......so I email my good friend Barb to vent and try to understand why I have been cooped up in this house for more than a month with sickness and how I needed this night. She gave me great advice by the way, I tell ya I'm fine with it now....but sometimes you get tired of all of it and when there is sickness it is always worse. So at 6pm the after hours Dr calls and says they will call an anti biotic in for the morning that it is probably viral again....very contagious. So Saturday morning we all slept until 7am...yes this was very nice....and the Dr office calls back to verify her temp...which was kind of strange...but okay. Then they call back and say the Dr wants to see her ASAP. I'm thinking what? I'm cleaning the outside of the fridge in my pajamas...hair on top of my head and no MAKEUP whats so ever on. SO we do a mad sweep to get ready and head out. Miller and Scott are at home dis infecting. SO I get there...we go through a separate door of the office and I'm thinking we have some crazy disease. We wait and not one Dr but 2 come in.......I'm thinking mono or strep throat. They do a Strep Test and it usually takes 10minutes to come back....hers came back in 60 seconds...POSITIVE. So I think okay anti biotics....NO.....the Dr says we have 2 choices....a. Madison gets this new shot that goes in her Sciatic Nerve and its not liquid it's powder. It will have to stay in her leg for about 20 seconds and will hurt for 3 days......or b. be admitted into the hospital.....the strep is so bad.....they are scared it will start to make rounds around hr body like it did 3 years ago....she was very sick. So I look at her and say well...sounds like we do the shot....okay people Madison is terrified of shots....hates them...she is not your normal 9 year old..she has to be strapped down and weighs 78 pounds and is verrrrrry strong. She is flipping out and I'm saying get the shot...I cant stay in the hospital all weekend so they can monitor you. You know we have to do this....you can do this....you can. SO we strap her down....and she is biting my coat.........screaming. while 2 nurses hold her still. The shot takes oh about 30 seconds....the longest 30 seconds of my life people.....so when it's over she cant walk...and she has her Healeys on with the rollers out.....if you don't know what they are they are tennis shoes\roller skates so I'm trying to help her down 5 floors without falling and through the parking lot...yes she is still trying and its big time drama......so I get her a root beer at A&W and she drinks all of it....we get home and I take Miller to mom's because she is very contagious....and she throws up...so I'm cleaning this up....her fever is 102......and I'm exhausted...this all happens before noon! SO......as the day goes on she slept and cried and couldn't move her leg.......Saturday night Miller went down rather early......and we watched You, Me and Dupree...while Madison laid in her bed and watched a movie.......Sunday morning she still had fever.....no church for us.....and we laid around all day watching Nanny Mc Fee and other shows....getting ready for Super Bowl...as of last night at 9pm her fever was 100....yes she is home today....acting fine....98.6.....but the Dr said she isn't cured until she has been fever free for 24 hours....so I wait...I wit for her to get well....so I can leave the house and be normal again...unless of course Miller gets it. Which we have done a good job of keeping them apart. I have alot going on this week......Planning this Valentine Banquet....Madison has a soccer game coming up, volleyball try outs, and acting lessons which she has missed for 2 weeks with sickness. So......I think I have had my share of being sick.....its someone else's turn.....maybe today will be a turn in the road...God only knows I need it.

I'll try to take one day at a time but lately several days have attacked me at once....Jennifer Unlimited

Girl Talk

Good Friday Morning. How is everyone? Come on in and grab a cup of coffee. Not many creamers to choose from...French Vanilla and Carmel. I'm glad it's Friday. What a week.
After taking care of two sick kids last week I knew this week would be crazy and it was. Madison had 4 tests this week...AGHHHHHH! She made a 100 on her Social Studies Test..the others I don't know yet. They all make me a nervous wreck. She didn't feel really well this morning a slight soar throat with cough and a 99 temp.....but I sent her on with some medicine the Dr gave her last week. Whatever it is we have to beat it...we have a busy weekend. As usual. Miller has been fine. We took him back to the ENT Dr last week and he got a clean bill of health. Today I'm cleaning the house and Miller has a hair cut appointment. Yes his 4th haircut since he was born...LOL!!! Miller is sleeping through the night...this is a great thing. Scott and I have our bed again.

Tonight is Girls Night Out for me and my girlfriends....we will be going to dinner and a movie (Because I Said So...with Diane Keaton) I love Diane Keaton ...love her...I think she is great.
My girlfriends and I do this about every 3-4 months...very important to do this...there are about 10 of us going...

This weekend Madison has acting lessons and a soccer game on Saturday...she also has a back hand spring class at gymnastics to take Saturday afternoon. Sunday is church....and the Super Bowl we don't have anything special for the ballgame.....Scott mentioned making his famous chicken wings...but not sure though. He got invited to a Super Bowl Party but not sure if he is going or not. I do know I will need to buy him beer for Sunday.

We had our MOPS meeting yesterday and it went really well....I really enjoy this group of women and plan on taking a bible study with some of them on Wednesday mornings for 7 weeks....I know we will have a great time.

We didn't get any snow...well maybe a total of one inch in 2 days..it went south of us which is fine with me.

Well, I have laundry to do before getting out today....I hope you all have a great weekend...I have gotten several emails from you all saying you couldn't comment on my blog.....not sure why...just keep coming back and trying...I check in with you guys ever so often.....Happy Friday!
