For Today...February 8th

Outside my window... warmer temps are so nice to have. It may be 70 today!

I am thinking... its nice to get back to schedule again. Both kids at school. Miller starts pre school this morning.

From the learning rooms... we are going to paint this week a new bird feeder. We need one in the front yard so I'm getting us one at Michaels and me and Miller are painting it. And while we do this we will talk about the letter B and discuss birds and their colors.

I am thankful for... my sweet warm house.

From the kitchen... White Chili, Crock pot Lasagna, Chicken Quesadillas and a Derby Pie because I love them..also cooking for a friend. I wanted to start doing this every other week..making a working mom/friend a meal and take it to them....

I am wearing...pajamas.

I am reading... nothing at the moment.

I am hoping... for a productive week. For things to go smoothly.

I am creating... trip info for friends (our rescheduled trip to the mountains..going white water rafting instead of snow tubing/skiing)

I am hearing...nothing. Silence is nice.

Around the house... straightening up the house after the weekend. Cleaning off the front porch. I did a deep cleaning last week. going over fingerprinted areas in the house too.

One of my favorite things... pieces of candy at the Grocery store...the ones you found as a kid made by Brachs Candy and you had a bag and could put what you wanted in the bag...my favorites were the white candies with jelly in them...yum!

A few plans for the rest of the week... gymnastics, 2 bible studies, Miller has his re scheduled ENT appointment, Valentines Day with the kids and hubby, and dinner with some girl friends.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Ice on trees in the back yard last week....Winter Storm 2009.

What a photo. Those icicles are certainly beautiful!
I love those candy mixes also, but Chocolate is my weakness...

I'm sure happy to be in the warmer subtropics of south Texas. Stay warm.

My post this week is all about what the day has in store for me for my 60th birthday. Do drop by if you can if you're not too busy.

candy like that is called pick n mix over here. But not many places do it any more! :-( Main places are the really expensive stuff like cinemas, not the stuff you used to get in it.

Oh rafting sounds like a lot of fun. I loved the icicle picture.

Love the picture and hope your week is "normal"! Your menu ideas all sound good and yummy!

Have a great week!
Yay for warmer temps for you! Sounds like y'all are getting back into normal routines.

What a fabulous menu!! It's lovely to see all our icicles dripping, falling and melting away into puddles.

Except for all the mud!

Blessings throughout the week...

I am happy to hear things are getting back to normal for you guys. What an extreme temp. change possibly going into the 70's after all the ice.

I like those candies too. It's amazing those are still around. It seems like so many things have disappeared since I was a kid, like penny candy that cost a nickel. Can't get nothing for a nickel now a days.

I pray Miller has a good ENT appt. and I pray you have a nice warm week ahead and no more ice.
