For Today...February 2, 2009..Ground Hogs Day

Outside my Window...I'm seeing lights slowly come on in homes that have been without power for days. The air is so cold. And my sweet husband leaves again for a 13 hour day.

From the learning rooms...not much this week...talking about winter some.

I'am thinking....about the things we need to do today.

I'am thankful.....for heat and electricity and family.

From the kitchen this week...Chili, Homemade Pizza, M&M Cookies, and when I get back into my own kitchen....I'm going to bake until I tire.

I am wearing..pajamas...flannel green ones with snow flakes

I am reading...The Little House Books....

I am hoping...to get to go home today. I need my house.

I am creating...a list of places to call today..it's a long list.

I am hearing...power trucks go by.

Around the house..it completely needs to be cleaned from top to bottom....when we get back there.

One of my favorite things......watching Steel Magnolias. I love this show. And when things get back to normal....I'm going to watch it.

Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week....Not really sure...can you believe that? Gymnastics and schools are still canceled. We have MOPS on Thursday but if school is still canceled it will be too. We do however have a playdate at the Sportsplex on Friday..hopefully. Church on Wednesday...for some down time for all of us.

A picture thought I would like to share.. this was not taken by me...I cant down load my pictures until I get home...but this is what some of our town looked like on Wednesday and so forth. Please pray for us....we are not used to these disasters.

I hope things get back to normal for you soon. We had an ice storm like that in NC several years ago - the sound of branches breaking sounded like rifle shots!

That looks awful. I will pray for you today, that you get to go back to your own home. It must have been comforting to Scott's grandma, to have you all there so that she wasn't alone. Someday, you'll look back at all of this as an adventure. Hang in there.

I just cant imagine!! The whole thing is freaky, aint it! What about your frig & freezer foods...will they be OK or will it be semi mush when you get home? Oh girl I am sorry. I wish I could loan you our generator. We had a big one installed a year or two after we built our house. Way worth our money even tho we were over charged for installment. When the elec. goes off it automaticly kicks on. We have certain things it runs here in the house. It runs off of propane.
Praying for yall!

I live where the ice storm affected me, too. I pray that you get electricity and get to go back home soon. There's no place like home!

It's awful, Jen. What a terrible thing this ice storm is, and all the problems is caused so many people. I so hope you get to go home. Just being in your own home, with electricity and heat of course, will do you worlds of good.

I am so glad to hear you are all safe. This was awful and as soon as I heard you guys got hit with this storm I started praying. That picture is really something. I can't believe how bad this storm was. Hopefully people will get their electric back soon and I am praying you never have this happen to you all again. Be safe and know I am thinking of you and praying for you all every day, several times a day.
