Please explain something to me

It's beautiful here....again. It's 50 degrees outside. Miller and I are going out today...running errands and going to the park.
I need some of you to help me figure out what happened last night. I put Miller in bed at 8pm......Scott and I went to bed ourselves at 10:30........about 11:00 I heard on the monitor Miller crying and babbling Mama... so I went in to get him....he was sound to sleep...so I went back in our room and I could hear him again on the monitor as I entered the room.....ran back into his room and he was fast to sleep. I go back into our room and Scott is sitting up in bed saying what was that? I went into Miller's room trying to figure out what the sound was and where it came from...when I noticed Miller's monitor in his room was unplugged......I remembered Madison unplugging it earlier for something she was doing in her room...so she forgot to plug it back in. So what was on my receiving end of the monitor in my room????Who was the baby crying on it???? Miller was asleep. I was so freaked out.......I got Miller out of bed and put him in bed with us...made Scott check the entire house and couldn't sleep all night. I have no idea what the sound was...It clearly wasn't Miller....but even Scott got a little freaked out and wont even talk about it this morning. I made him sleep with the tv on in our room all night. I just layed there. Could it have been someone Else's monitor on the street coming in on my monitor? I believe in ghosts but to a degree. I cannot explain what happened but I was scared to death. Anyone experienced this before?
Let me know if you have. I was going to do a Works for me Wednesday but had to get this off my chest. Happy Wednesday!!!!

Bless your heart. More than likely, it was someone's moniter across the street, or nearby. We could hear things in the house next door to us through Andrew's moniter. It usually was plugged in, but it was turned off when this would happen. Could it be that you heard a baby and thought you heard Miller saying "mama" since that is what you are used to hearing? We also heard a cb through our stereo a long time ago. I feel horrible for you because there is nothing worse than being scared and not able to go to sleep. That happens to me and it's awful. I hope you all have a better night.

I'm sure it was someone else's monitor...mine did that quite a bit! One time I even heard my neighbor having a phone conversation on my monitor.

I feel so bad for you...there's not much worse than being scared at night!!! Hopefully you'll have a better night tonight!

I did get the kids to dress up as Wizard of Oz when Travis was almost 1...he was a lion and Emily was Dorothy...they were cute!

A family at church a couple of years ago dressed as the cast of Scooby Doo. The dad was Fred, Mom was Velma, daughter was Daphne and son was Shaggy and they carried a stuffed Scooby...it was so cute!!

Can't wait to watch Survivor!! :)

do do do do, do do do do (that was the twilight zone song in case you couldn't figure it out...ha!). a little creepy and spooky. i'm with the others though...i'm sure you were picking up another signal...those monitors work better than we think they can. i would've been a little freaked out too though!

I'm sure you were picking up another monitor close by, although you did say it was unplugged, so why would you pick up another one??? LOL

I'm not trying to scare you, I also believe in ghosts, Lord knows I've seen a few weird things, but I wouldn't let it get to you or scare you. Just ask the Lord to protect you all and surround you with His protection at night.

I hope you get some sleep tonight :)

Have a great day :)

I hope you don't get too scared. I used to be able to hear my neighbors monitor through my receiver when I lived in Ft. Sill years ago so this may be what was happening. You checked the house and all was well so try to focus on this so you can get a good nights sleep. I will pray you do. Keep us posted if you figure it out.

I believe you were picking up someone else's monitor. It would've scared me, too, just because of being woke up like that in that situation.

You know, I used a baby monitor to keep an eye on my mother-in-law when she was at the end of her battle with cancer. All I heard all night long was reruns of Golden Girls. She sat up all night watching that. :-)

But....it took me a couple of days to figure out why our phone wasn't ringing. Evidently when the monitor's on it messes up your phone reception. So I know they pick up sounds and signals from places other than the other end of the monitor. I agree with Jennifer. I'll bet it was someone else's monitor, some who lives close by. And if you tell me no one near you has a baby, then I'm going to jump right in there with you and wonder, what the heck?

It was probably another monitor from a neighbor.

Monitors are tricky and you have to be careful, especially when on your cordless phone. I could hear my neighbor all the time when she was telling all her secrets over her phone.

Thanks for stopping by my place!
That has happened to me before- when the main monitor is off, but the receiver is on. I heard a mom yelling at her crying baby. FREAKED ME OUT. Also makes you wonder what people hear on THEIR monitors... if they pick YOU up on theirs...!
