Slow Cooker Thursday

With fall just around the corner and so many wonderful recipes being shared, constantly, amongst the blogging ladies....Sandra @ A Diary of a Stay at Home mom thought that it would be neat to have a feature every Thursday, just for crockpot recipes.

What do you think??? You have some great recipes to share, or perhaps you're looking for some delicious ones to give you a reason to pull out the ol' crockpot???
Well it's Thursday ladies and you know what that means. Time to pull out those crockpots and put them to good use.

Italian Beef

1 Rump Roast
1 package of Au Jus
1 jar of Peperocini Peppers with juice
1 package of Italian seasoning mix
1 package of Hoagie Buns

Add Rump Roast to Crockpot.....add other ingredients...no water.
Cook on low all day..6-8 hours or high 4-6 hours....take out and shred
roast and add back to pot....put on Hoagie buns and serve....
Yummy.

For more crock pot recipes go see Sandra...and enjoy.

Yesterday was great. We had to close our pool down...frown frown frown...Summer is officially over. It's getting so cold here at night we knew we would never get it in it anymore.

Alot of you out there have been making some major decisions about blogging. SO I thought I would tell you what I had decided. It is so addictive. So here is my plan. I will post first thing in the morning when I get up. Then when Madison is off I will read and comment to all my morning coffee breaks. Then that's it....no more for the rest of the day. Or night. And no more weekends...I will have to take those off for family...Scott gets a little jealous of the computer at night and well, Madison needs my attention in her life right now...I know you all understand this....like Barb says.....I have to get my life back in order. The house needs a good cleaning....laundry needs to get done and YES I need to get a schedule.
Maybe this will work maybe it wont but I have to try it out. Wish me luck.

My day with Scott was good. Thanks for all my comments and thanks for my comments on my blog.....I give all the credit to Susie @ Bluebird Blogs.

I hope you all have a great Thursday.

Please all, and you will please none.........

I'am so Thankful

Looking back over the years.....I realize how blessed I'am. A wonderful husband who loves me with all his heart. Two beautiful children God has given me to mold. A home to raise my family in. A church family who is always there for us. Friends whom we all adore.
I'am so thankful to be able to stay home with my children and raise them. I'am so thankful to be able to sit in my pajamas until 10am if I want. I'am so thankful to not have a schedule (even though I need one).
I'am so thankful to be able to take my kids to the park when I want and take them to lunch when I want.
I love my life and I love my family. Have you taken a look at your life and how you are blessed? Try it.....it feels great.

For more Meal Planning go visit Laura @ Organize Junkie....

I wanted to share with all of you with the Fall season approaching....a great snack for having people over to play cards or watching a football game or just munching on.....very easy to make.

Payday candy
1 tub of candy corn
1 jar of your favorite cashews or salted peanuts...
Mix these 2 items together and viola.....you have a payday...and a simple snack.

I love to make this in the fall and hubby cant stay out of it.
Hope you enjoy,With fall finally here....I'm going to buy some pansies today....I need to replace the geraniums that are dying....and the petunias that are hanging in there....I'll get some mums in the next 2 weeks.....or so. Madison loves going with me to the local farm store to get the pumpkins and hay....we always take alot of pictures by the pumpkins..this year Miller gets to go.
Our Sunday School always does a hayride out on the farm and it always goes over really well.
I cant wait. I have been finding some beautiful pictures over a webshot.com...go see them.

Anyway...I have been reading some new people and wanted to send you over to visit.....Jennifer @ Contolled Chaos...I actually graduated with her...she found me about 2 weeks ago....can you believe this?????? So go on over and visit with her..take your coffee....and sit down awhile and chat.

Well, I hope everyone has great day...we are going to take some clothes down to a second hand store and go buy some pansies......its 47 degrees this morning........my kind of morning.

Be looking for my new look soon.....Susie @ Bluebird Blogs is working on it as we speak.
Happy Monday!!!!

Good Sunday Morning

Halloween is just around the corner......We have already been shopping for costumes....Miller is going to be a lion....it is so cute. Madison wants to be a rock star...we haven't bought her costume just yet...she will change her mind about 50 times.

Madison said something so funny last night....we were finishing up dinner and I asked her to clear the table....she just sat there and said "well, its the wrong day to be me"........I just giggled and thought that was so funny...she has a great sense of humor.

Today is beautiful and the storms have passed.....Scott had to go into work...I don't know if you know he is a phone man.....climbs the poles and makes sure we all can talk on the phone.....he got called in due to the storms....alot of people are without phone lines this morning. He called awhile ago on his way to work to say that alot of trees in town were down as if a small tornado went through and took a path with it.... pretty scary. It's a little warmer today but feels great.

Miller is down for his first nap and I'm determined to get myself up and get this house together. If I don't get myself on a schedule or even some kind of routine I may sink into depression.

We arnt going to church this morning because Scott usually helps me get the kids there.....I know some of you get 4-7 kids to church in the morning but Miller wont stay in the nursery and they beep me to come down there,,so its just very wearing on me to get dressed up and go for 2 hours and spend the whole time in the nursery.

I'm watching Haunted Hotels right now....I love this show.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday.....

A Meme on Saturday

Ramblings of a Stay at home mom tagged me on this meme......

4 words and their definition...

1. Krusty Krab..........Well of course I know what Sponge Bob is so I can explain this is a restaurant in Bikini Bottoms.

2. Clueless.....Well I know this is one of Chrissa's favorite movies.....so this shouldn't count

3. Juvenile.....I think of a jail for the young.....isn't that awful that is what I think

4. Weekly......Saturday thru Sunday......

Okay that wasn't that bad........it's raining here today. Madison had Homecoming this morning...but it has been cancelled. So today we are getting our fall stuff out and out winter clothes and putting ole summer away.
We had some intense storms last night....some tornadoes ripped through a town not far from me.....like 20 miles away, and they are expected to continue today. I love the rain....and I love storms but not tornadoes......

Well...for all of you Survivor buffs.....its getting good. I cant believe they through the game last night to get rid of Billy. Odd. He was a little strange and all...but I thought that was a little deceiving.

Okay everyone....I need you to put your heads together. I always take the kids pictures for the Christmas Cards......and need some cute ideas.....do any of you have any. I normally do the ole put the kids in front of the tree.....but want something different this year. I know I'm thinking early but I LOVE CHRISTMAS ad do everything early so I'm not stressed out.

I hope everyone is well this Saturday morning.......take care......
Jen

TGIF!!!!

It's Five Ingredient Friday once again.......and I have a great recipe for those Family Reunions coming up or the pot luck next week at church. It's easy, fast, and yummy.

Grape Salad

1 package of cream cheese...softened
1 cup of sour cream
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp of vanilla
4 pounds of red seedless grapes
3 tbsp of brown sugar

In a large bowl beat cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Add grapes and toss to coat. Transfer into your serving bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve..Sprinkle with brown sugar before serving. You can add pecans if you would like to garnish.

13 Reasons why I would drop everything and drive to Florida right now!!!!

1.I lived in Panama City Beach for 4 years with Scott and we just connected there.

2.Something about the ocean....it relaxes me.

3.My best friend Cindy lives there and I miss her so much.

4.I love sunrises and would love to be sitting on a blanket drinking coffee and watching it this morning.

5. I love sunsets and would love to be sitting on a blanket drinking a glass of wine watching it this evening.

6.The smell........ahhhhhhh. Enough said.

7. Miller has never been.....and I want to see those fat toes in sand.

8.Madison loves Florida...when she was 2 we took her and left the condo to go to Gulf World...the whole time she kept saying...I want to go back to Florida..meaning the condo...she thought just the condo was Florida.

9. I miss the people.

10. I miss the ocean and the sound of the crashing waves.

11. I miss Cindy.

12. I relax and and never stress there.

13. I want a steak and cheese sub from Hungary Howies there.

I hope everyone is well.......it's Thursday and that means it's grocery day. I go only 2 times a month. Well,,,,I need to go get Madison up for school. Miller only got up 2 times...midnight and 3am....and well he is still asleep. I slept well. I think its his teeth.
Happy Thursday everyone.

Please explain something to me

It's beautiful here....again. It's 50 degrees outside. Miller and I are going out today...running errands and going to the park.
I need some of you to help me figure out what happened last night. I put Miller in bed at 8pm......Scott and I went to bed ourselves at 10:30........about 11:00 I heard on the monitor Miller crying and babbling Mama... so I went in to get him....he was sound to sleep...so I went back in our room and I could hear him again on the monitor as I entered the room.....ran back into his room and he was fast to sleep. I go back into our room and Scott is sitting up in bed saying what was that? I went into Miller's room trying to figure out what the sound was and where it came from...when I noticed Miller's monitor in his room was unplugged......I remembered Madison unplugging it earlier for something she was doing in her room...so she forgot to plug it back in. So what was on my receiving end of the monitor in my room????Who was the baby crying on it???? Miller was asleep. I was so freaked out.......I got Miller out of bed and put him in bed with us...made Scott check the entire house and couldn't sleep all night. I have no idea what the sound was...It clearly wasn't Miller....but even Scott got a little freaked out and wont even talk about it this morning. I made him sleep with the tv on in our room all night. I just layed there. Could it have been someone Else's monitor on the street coming in on my monitor? I believe in ghosts but to a degree. I cannot explain what happened but I was scared to death. Anyone experienced this before?
Let me know if you have. I was going to do a Works for me Wednesday but had to get this off my chest. Happy Wednesday!!!!

Happy Tuesday Everyone

Good Morning......I have my coffee with Cocunut Creamer (Christina).....and what a night I had!!!!
Miller went to sleep at 7:30 and slept until 3am....YEAH!!!! Here is the problem....he didnt want to go back to sleep after this. He was up until 4:40am......I cant win for losing. AGHHHHHHHH!!!
He went back down and woke up at 5:30...Scott got up this time and he went back to sleep and slept until 7am. Now he is down for a morning nap again. I really think we are cutting another tooth. His ears are cleared up..we went to the doctor to make sure last week. I guess we have some kind of sleep anxiety seperation maybe.
I do know I need some sleep......like maybe just 6 hours together not spread out. Of course when he is asleep I cant go to sleep I have had 2 cups of coffee and am wide open now.
It is such a beautiful morning here...it has been raining here for 2 days now....so some much needed sunshine is always nice.......I'm so glad fall is in the air.....54 degrees this morning...I love it. Some of the leaves are starting to fall....

I tried to post this yesteday about Susie @ Bluebird Blogs....she is having a contest. Yes..a contest... But....I'm not getting enough sleep....I'm tired and cranky sometimes. How do I get him to at least sleep for 4 hours straight. In the beginning he slept all night from 7pm until 6am.....it was great but then he got his first ear infection and started teething after this and WHAM!!!!! no more sleep for MOMMY......I will gladly take any advice, criticism.....magazines articles.....ect.....I'am in need of help.

How did you meet your mate......

Barb over @ A Chelsea Morning is hosting a "How I met my Mate"...I thought this would be loads of fun...so please participate and leave yours with her.....

13 years ago......I went with about 15 friends to Daytona Beach, Florida..yes it was Spring Break..WHOOOOOOO! We ran into the snowstorm of 93...and normally for a 15 hour drive turned into a 28 hour drive. It was cold.....and crazy. When we finally arrived...we partied...you know the party's that you went to as a teen....we drank and danced and stayed up all night and drank some more. Anyway,,,,,this is a family blog I know. I was dating someone from home and it really wasn't working out. Scott....was introduced to me and followed me around all week...everytime I was anywhere..there he was like a puppy dog. I found it amusing at first not looking for anything...trying to deal with the mess back home. We had some good talks and a couple of drinks...laid on the beach together but that was it!!!!
I even went home a day early. Scott was down on Spring Break too with another group. See we are from the same town he is 4 years older....went to rival schools and even knew of one another just never got around to meeting....when we got home he found my phone # and called 2-3 times a day. I told him I needed to deal with some things before dating. And I did....but it took about 2 months......Scott never gave up once a week he would call just to see how things were going. I finally got over my "mess" and he asked me out. We went to dinner and a movie. It was fun.....but I didn't want anything serious. So I distanced myself. A Friend of mine H said she had seen Scott at a local club dancing with my friends and hitting on one of them......well, it made me mad it mad me furious...but most of all it made me jealous.....you see.....she lied...she wanted to see if I really liked him....and I did. So the next day I called him.....and well...its not over yet........we got close and he without talking to me about it in listed into the military. USAF. And tried to break up with me. That just about killed me. I wouldn't give up. He went off to basic and I stayed as close to his family as my own. Went with them to graduation and visited as often as I could. 2 months later Scott came home for Christmas.....he proposed to me......we dated 6 months......were married in 2 months and moved to Florida....it all happened so fast....but I don't regret a thing. 13 years later......I would do it again, and again, and again, he is my morning, noon and night. He is what makes me tick...he is the world to me. People ask all the time how do we make it work....honesty, laughter, and love. And most of all respect. Scott shows me everyday how much life means to us...and that what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I believe in this and I believe in him.
So this is my story and I'm sticking to it.
Jen

Back to School Night

Well, last night was Back to School Night. It went well. I really like Madison's teachers. They all seemed very well organized and willing to help everyone out. We have a new principal at our school this year. I have known him for years...I mean years....he was one of my 7th grade teachers. He has alot of changes for our school and well.....I'm excited about this.
I know alot of you have posted about first days of school and how all our children are doing.....but do you ever get any bad reports on your kids from other parents or kids???? I kind of ran into this these past couple of days.....how do you handle these kind of things? Madison is a great kid.....a little wild at times....but great. She doesn't cause problems and loves all kids. Sometimes she gets a little loud and too excited.
I had a parent say something to some other parents...about Madison's behavior......she couldn't come to me......she went to other people...gossip I may add.....and boy did this chap me. I'am still trying to gather my thoughts on this matter and calm down. I'm not sure how I will approach this. Pray for my guidance and pray I handle it with peace, dignity and class.
Has anyone had to deal with this before....please let me know I can always use advice.

September 11th

I thought I would participate in this....I thought it was a great idea by Shannon @Rocks in my Dryer.......please go on over and read everyone's inspiring stories...this is a day we all will never forget.
This is my story....
We had just went to Panama City Beach, Florida for vacation......that sad Tuesday morning...Madison was laying in our bed while Scott was making coffee and I was sitting on the balcony watching the ocean......when Madison ran from the bedroom (age 4 at the time) yelling a plane hit two big buildings in New York City.....Scott looks at me and says What did she say????? I turned on the tv in the living room and tower 1 had already been struck....Madison saw this one.....and about this time tower 2 was being hit live......at this moment my mom is calling us saying "we are being hit by terrorist" get home today. I remember making breakfast and eating in front of the tv and making lunch and eating in front of the tv and same for dinner. Madison kept asking...what is happening????? How do you explain this to a 4 year old.....so I took her down to the pool and ocean to keep her mind and mine off of the daily events......no one I repeat on one was out of their condos this day.....it was like a ghost town.....we left to come home on Thursday....2 days short on our vacation...my mom wanted us home .....it was all over the radio that 10 long hours home...we just couldn't get away from it. I remember crying.......I remember praying.....but most of all I remember little Madison asking...Why?????? To this day when the song "Where were you when the world stopped turning" by Alan Jackson comes on Madison stops and says Panama City Beach. Fl.....yes she does remember and so do I.

A Beautiful Sunrise

There is just something about a beautiful sunrise. Scott and I have enjoyed watching it this week. With a baby we rise early now a days. Watching another wonderful day God has given us is beyond words...if you have never watched the sun rise....do it.....put it on this list of things to do before you die......its absolutely beautiful.
Enjoy your sunrise.......and get you a good cup of coffee to go with it while your at it.

Girls Night Out

Its GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!!!! It's FRIDAY!!!!!!
I have been waiting for this all week. A Break!
Once in awhile I send an email out to my girlfriends and say its time for another girls night out. I send this to about 20 gals......and about 8-12 useally show. Tonight we are going to a local mexican resteraunt and yes...we will have Margaritas. We are not BIG drinkers but the occasional cocktail is nice to share with friends. And they are pretty too.
Dont get me wrong I love spending time with Scott...I really do. But once in awhile you need that girl bonding....whether its dinner and drinks, a good walk around the block or a movie we all need that female bonding. Even if its just to vent or stare off into space. Women just have to feel needed in other departments......we know where to go when we need a good shoulder to cry on. Men dont get that. OR when its that time of the month and we cant decide if we are sad, happy or mad....useally all of the above towards any male. But women can handle these emotions about our friends. We know what to say and how to to give advice. This advice could be on anything from children potty training to a co worker they cant stand at work. I'm not sure where we got our PHD in Physcology but we got it.
I love going out with my girlfriends.....its great to get together...good food,a good drink, and fantastic fellowship.....it doesnt get any better than this.
Girls Night Out....try is sometime!
