Girl Talk

Well, I haven't done this in a couple of weeks....so Good Morning Gals....whats up? I have my coffee. This picture just made me post it. I have always wanted to go out west in the winter...Colorado, Wyoming..get a cabin with the family and snow ski....maybe one day I will. I just think this is beautiful....

Well, lately...everything has been okay since we got over the stomach bug...the house has stayed germ free....
I had my first MOPS meeting yesterday and it went GREAT! What a great group of women God put me with, we had such a great time and well, I had to pray in front of 9 of them and I was very nervous about this but I did it...God got me through it, and I felt so much better. This group of women are going to have a wonderful time together. And the Leadership team is awesome..I just love these women.

Miller is sleeping through the night FINALLY. He woke once last night but we got through it.
He hasn't had any ear problems since the surgery...which thank you for your thoughts and prayers on this.

We got through Christmas and New Year...and I'm so glad its over. I love the holidays but it gets way overwhelming.

This weekend we are soooooo busy. Tomorrow Madison starts acting lessons down at the local Theater....and she starts in door soccer.......and of course Sunday we have church. Soccer will last the whole month of January......then Volleyball starts in February then soccer starts back in March....and acting lessons goes on until the end of March, I will be one busy taxi cab...and gymnastics will continue through it all. Cheerleading wont start until August...thank God.

Today......going to do some returns from Christmas and going to have lunch with my mom. It's raining and yucky today....

I do have one thing left to ask you guys......we are planning vacations for the year....and we know we are going to Florida in October and am planning it now.....BUT...we wanted to do Chicago in May....does anyone know anything about this town and what would be best for kids..where to stay that is affordable and what not to miss.......I would appreciate any advice.....

I hope you all have a great weekend......and I'll see you on Monday.

Dinner tonight is Pork Chops, Green Beans, Homemade Bread...its rising now...and scalloped Potatoes....I made a Derby Pie yesterday afternoon for our dessert...yummy.

I'm glad Christmas is over, too! It is stressful!

I don't know anything about Chicago. I've been planning our trips on Expedia.com. It's really a great website...you should check it out!
raining, sick, busy... sounds like our house.

Blessings,
Karla

I hope you make it to Colorado someday, Jen. Those of us who live here know how blessed we are to be surrounded by such beauty.

We got a little snow last night, enough to turn our world white, but I suspect it will go away when the day gets warmer.

I've never been to Chicago. So I can't help you there. But I'll bet you get lots of help from others out here.

I agree with you that "overwhelming" probably describes the holidays best. It's always a huge relief when it's over.

I'm glad your little is sleeping through the night. That's always such a great milestone. I haven't been to Chicago, but found this website http://www.chicagokids.com/
Hopefully, it will give you some good pointers. My husband's uncle lived there for years and loved it. Have a great weekend!

I'm glad the holiday's are behind us, too.

Glad to hear you're all over the stomach bug. And Yay! for Miller for sleeping through the night.

Chicago? I've got a close girlfriend (who blogs, too) who lives in Chicago, I'm going to email her w/your blog link & ask her to post/comment about this, ok.

It sounds like you are definitely a taxi driver. This seems to be my job too.

I'm so glad you had a nice MOPS meeting. I think the kind of ladies who join these groups are usually really nice women to have as friends. It sounds like you are going to have a blast. I am going to join PWOC again this year.

My hubby is from Chicago but hasn't been back there in about 11 years so he can't really be any help and I've never been, but I hear it is a really nice city. I think there is an American Girl doll shop or something there. I am sure someone out there can tell you what you need to know.
Wow, Jen, your daughter is a very busy little girl! I am happy to hear that your son is feeling better with his ears. Thank God.

I LOOOVVVEEEE Chicago...great town. I have been there a few times, but just with my husband(no kids). I know there is an aquarium and a museum down by the lakefront. Also, you could probably catch a Cubs game while you're there. Baseball games are wonderful for families. There is an area called the Navy Piers, which is on the lakefront, too.Lots of shops, restaurants, rides for the kiddies....when we went to The Piers, there were street performers, puppet shows, magic shows, etc. to watch. The kids might like that.

I agree with mom of 2...Expedia is a great source of info. They even have reviews of hotels and such.

We stayed at the Omni Suites (heart of the action), which was nice. I want to say it was about $200/night.
