Christmas Shopping....Anyone?????

I know it's August and I know what you are thinking!!!!!! But do you realize how many days until Christmas? 121..............
Yes.....I know you are saying...Jen.....shut up...... But it's true....Christmas is right around the corner...and I'am a Christmas fanatic.....I love this holiday. LOVE IT!!!!!!!
I get everyone a Christmas present down to the mailman. Yes.....I do. Scott says why do you get the mailman something...he has a great pension and makes good money....I just roll my eyes...its not the gift its the thought. So many people forget this.
I have started shopping......little things. Last year I didnt get to enjoy it as much....Miller was just born and well, I had a little bit of the baby blues......so I could careless who got a gift.....I did bake cookies for the mailman though.
I love Christmas shopping though. Walking into the mall and going from store to store...looking for sales or that perfect gift on my list. Grabbing a cappucino and going...nothing like it. The hussle and bussle doesnt bother me that much ...when I see someone upset or angry or trying to get around me I just smile really big and say MERRY CHRISTMAS...that either ticks them off because they know they are being rude...or changes thier attitude.
I always go out of town for a weekend to shop...useally with friends....I love the smells of shopping....coffee's, candy coated pecans, Hot Chocolate.....it's always nice to have this smell.
This year we are going to Nashville the 2nd weekend in December....looking forward to it.No kids.....that is always nice. I love looking at the Opryland Hotel Christmas Lights....they are so beautiful and shopping there is like a winter wonderland....its great. They have the sweetest neatest shops.
Christmas Shopping......I have already started mine.....and love every gift I purchase....let me know if you have started yours.....or if you dread it.
Happy Monday!!!!!
Jen

These recipes you keep posting are awesome. I think you should start a food blog like Sandra.
I totally get what you mean about loving Christmas. I put up my tree every year the day after Thanksgiving and don't take it down until the day after New Year. I love the shopping and no the crowds don't bother me. I think it's awesome that you get to go shopping in Nashville. I have been through quite a few times when I went from Ok. to NJ to visit my parents while we were stationed at Ft. Sill, but I never stayed there and have never seen it for Christmas. I'll bet it's beautiful. I can't believe only 121 days left. Gosh, this doesn't sound like too many. I guess I better get going then. Thanks for the reminder.

Oh man you are putting me in the Christmas mood... I LOVE Christmas too!!! I decorate right around Thanksgiving (day after normally) and it stays up until the kids go back to school, after the New Year! And -- shopping; not my big thing, but there is JUST something about walking around the mall at Christmas time, so we do that once or twice through the Christmas season. This year, I am really in the Christmas mood, and though my shopping will be done, I want to go over to Raleigh and walk through their malls during the season --- they are gorgeous, no doubt! Have fun in Nashville --- that's not too far from my hometown (Knoxville) and we spent many a day in Nashville!!!

Can't wait to try your recipe!!! :)

Bloglines is misbehaving I think. You've got a couple of new posts I didn't know about!

I'm like you - I just go nuts at Christmas and I start getting excited about it right aroun Halloween.

My dad is a retired mailman and he loved people like you when he was delivering the mail. :-) So did all us kids - all those homemade goodies he brought home.

You really could start a food blog, you know. The recipes you post always sound wonderful.

I'm doing a thing at my site asking people to do a post about how they chose the name of their blog and I'd love it if you'd play along.

I haven't started shopping yet, but I have started my list. Both of the kids birthdays are in November, my birthday and our wedding anniversary are in December so I have to start shopping early to keep up with all that we have going on! I just don't like to be rushed and shopping early helps to avoid that! You'll have to tell us all about Nashville when you get back...and maybe some pics of the lights!!

And I do love those chicken enchiladas!!!

Hi, Jen! The recipe sounds delicious. I was sitting in church yesterday, and I realized the day - exactly 4 months til my baby's 3rd birthday, which means less than 4 months til Christmas! Wow! The year has flown by. I haven't started shopping yet, but I have a few things in mind. That's the hardest part for me. I'd LOVE to go to the Oprayland Hotel at Christmastime! But for now, I am IN LOVE with FALL! So I will concentrate on that. I may have to get my fall things out very soon...

I love getting my Christmas shopping done early too, and I've already picked up quite a few things. I try to finish by Halloween or early Novemeber if I can so that I can enjoy the rest of the holidays without the stress of knowing I 'have to' find a gift. For me, it makes for a much more enjoyable holiday. (Extra bonus too - by getting it done early I'm not stuck driving in snowstorms to finish shopping anymore). :)

Jen I dread Christmas!!!!! Stop talking about it already!! LOL!! I love what it represents but I dont like the hussle & bussle stuff. I do like to bake tho!! We are usually so busy around here that time of the year because of pecan season. We are VERY busy from November to the 1st part of January with the harvest. One year we were so busy that we only had Christmas day off & therefore I had no time or energy to cook Christmas dinner so we went out to eat. It was terrible!!! My kids, husband & I said we would NEVER do that again & that somehow we would have a good Christmas dinner every year...and we have every since!!
