Schedules

Before Miller was born I had schedules. I had a schedule for the grocery, cleaning the house, working my yard and garden..ect. Now I dont have time to do anything. Either I'm too tired or I guess just plain lazy. With school starting back up I need to get with the program and make things eaiser on me. I need a cleaning schedule for my house and a time for my flowers. I'am asking you ladies out there to help me figure this out. Miller started crawling last week so we are into everything and I constantly run after him. Any suggestions? I'm going to get with Organized Junkie this week on meal planning,,,which I love to do and already do but looking for something easier maybe. I'm very structured and a perfectionist but it seems I'am constantly cleaning, picking up or doing laundry...please help this task seem less time consuming. Any comments are gladly appriciated.........Help!

Have you ever heard of MOTH? Managers of Their Home? It's a scheduling program for homeschoolers, but works well for just about everything, in my opinion. You can even use the basic structural idea behind it. I think the times aren't nearly as important from day to day as the process itself is. The key to scheduling yourself is to start with what you naturally do best first thing in the morning (for me, that's kitchen stuff - dishes, trash, sweeping, mopping, menus, food preps for anything that needs prep work) then to move to the bathrooms (don't know why exactly, it's on the opposite side of the house, but yeah...okay) and then to do the living and dining areas, then the hallway, and if I haven't dwadled enough, then the bedrooms. Laundry throughout the day...don't know if that is what you were looking for and if you need more help, let me know.

I use a simple techinque to keep me on track. It was one of my Works for me Wednesday tips. I hung a flip chart in my dining room and I make a list every day for myself and the kids of what we want to get accomplished for the day. The kids LOVE checking things off so they are pretty good about helping out. Thanks for visiting my site!

I wish I was more organized...I'm afraid I don't have any advice to offer you. I think for the most part I clean things as they need cleaning and do laundry pretty much every day. I do meal plan, though. I was more structured when my kids were smaller, but now that they are 8 and 5 a schedule isn't quite as important as when they were little. Sorry I couldn't help you, but I'm looking forward to reading the comments you get because I could also use some tips!!

I don't know if I'll be much help with this one but here goes. With 7 kids, 5 stil at home, I have to have just about everything scheduled, but with my 3 year old, who has been into everything like your son, and still is into everything, I don't always hold to it. What I do is schedule the important things. I schedule what times we eat, what I will make, what rooms I will clean each day of the week, and I always do at least one load of laundry a day. If you stick to a very small schecule of all the importatnt stuff then you can kind of work the other stuff around when you get a bit here and there. Miller is a boy, so don't expect to get too much time here and there, so when you do take full advantage of it.

We were apparently think the SAME thing today!! SO FUNNY!!!! I've used flylady.com techniques and modified them for my family/lifestyle. I am SUCH a perfectionist yet still need to WORK at keeping things in order around here....some days are better than others!!! check out flylady.com and browse around....and if i can email you what i've put together (so far) as far as a basic weekly plan and cleaning lists etc.....GOOD LUCK!!!!

Somebody else mentioned it, but I also am a lover of flylady.com. I've just adjusted it to my own life though (she goes a bit overboard!).
