Summer Bounty

There is just nothing better than BLT'S. Esp when the tomato is out of your own garden! That's what we are having for dinner tonight! I'm frying bacon as I type. Our garden hasnt gone as planned this summer...our green beans got eat up while we were on vacation by Japanese Beetles..:(

Our tomatoes have grown but are taking their time turning red....we have 3 rolls of them. But I finally picked our first red one last week....I wish they would hurry up I wanna make some sauces!

We have 2 watermelons....last year they were not great...hoping this year they are. Our cucumbers are out of control...I dont pickle..so I'm giving them away like hot cakes. Our squash and zucchini are wonderful.....I cant keep them...I cook them up daily!

Green bell peppers are great...I'm freezing them. AND of course my spices are great....

What is in your garden this year....and what are you doing to hold on to it?

Ours and everybody else's tomatoes around here are crappy! I hope yours will be better.
I have been cooking ours as we go to...my son planted just a few things.
Its nice like that.

Our tomatoes are just starting to come in and turn red. Joe picked a bowl full last night and they are delicious! We have peppers, tomatoes, squash in the garden. Down at the property line we have 3-4 watermelons growing. Joe used our neighbor's seeds and I can already taste how good they will be. Funny thing is I am the only one in the family that eats melon of any sort so they are all mine!

Your garden sounds fabulous. I have one tomato topsy-turvy and one for strawberries. So far, I've reaped one stinkin' strawberry:(
