Wrapping up the week

Wow what a week. Or even a day. Miller and I have already been to get a hair cut today and to the Federal Express office and to get diapers. Yesterday we went to the grocery...and might I add I would rather jump off a bridge...naked. That wears me out. TOTALLY. From the moment I walk into Walmart until the 2 hours later we leave both crying and tired....when we get home and I have to un loaded all the groceries we both take naps. It is such an event. I know he will get bigger and eventually get easier....but for now....I dread grocery day. Luckily I only do it 2 times a month.

Wednesday's are my day to myself....and I HEART THIS! Totally. I had such a good day. I found 3 new bathing suits at Dillards on sale....went to lunch with girlfriends....stopped by the library by myself in the quiet and viewed cook books without interuption and didnt even have to go up stairs into the kids area...went into a liquor store (which i never get to do) viewing different wines for our new wine fridge and looked at all the cool cheeses and relishes and stayed 30 minutes...and felt like a grown up.

Anyway....around here....my garden is dying out slowly....and I have a pumpkin growing..not sure where this came from...but me and the kids have enjoyed watching it get bigger....and I have sweet potatoes coming up. The last of the tomatoes are coming in and I'm freezing them for stews and chilis this winter and fall.

The weekend will be relaxed....the last one for awhile. Tonight we are having dinner together as i'm going to make mini meatloafs the last of our summer squash steamed and mashed potatoes....and some sliced tomatoes too. We are going to the pool tomorrow...our pool closes Labor day so we want to be there as much as possible...Sunday we have church and Monday is back to school and work. Madison is staying the night with a friend on Saturday night. So we may take Miller somewhere just him...not sure yet.

I have a new menu plan with new things to try so stay with me as I share recipes in the next couple of weeks. I guess that is all I have going on around here. I hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy the last days of summer....fall is so close we can smell it.....talk to you soon.

LOL "and might I add I would rather jump off a bridge...naked" I totally know what you mean and that's one of the things I'm loving now that the kids are in school...grocery shopping ALONE.

Can't wait to see the recipes you'll share. Have fun at the pool.

Hugs,
Sandra

I heart alone time too. I seldom get it though. Tonight my 16yr old goes to her 'real' father's house for the weekend. Saturday we will have Abby!!! Yippee!! I plan on a quiet weekend inside. I have enjoyed the nice weather over the past 2 weeks but as you know the hot/humid days are back.

Do you to Noble Park pool? It is a nice pool but way crowed most of the time. Of course all the kids are in school now.

Yeah, that's how I feel going grocery shopping.

Oh, I am so ready for the cooler air of fall! It is close, & we've had some cooler temps, but now 90s are back in the forecast for the next week. Yuck.

Happy Friday!

Have a great weekend! :)
Hi Jen,

I wanted to say thanks for the birthday wishes you left on my blog!

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate with little ones. Hence the needing a good cup of coffee? My kids are older but I still hate grocery shopping. I usually wait until I'm completely out of food before going. I just dread it.

Have a nice weekend!

Brandee :-)

I don't like going to the commissary with kids in tow either! I try to go on the weekends when Joe is home, but of course it's busier then. Lucas hasn't been too difficult yet, so I also go during the day while Kayla's at school and it's not too crowded...but it does always feel like such a chore! Especially because I go 2x a month too and get so many groceries, and so many to put away LOL

Glad you enjoyed yourself on Wed!

For me, the worst part of grocery shopping is unloading the groceries at home and putting them away. I wish I could hire someone to do that part.

And being at the library all alone -- ahhh! That is my retreat place. I just love it.

Have a good weekend! You're so sweet to be sending me something with all you have going on:-)

I hate grocery shopping too. I sometimes get to do it alone, but even then I am usually in a rush to get home. I never really leisurely go to stroll because I always have such a huge order. It takes me about 2 hours to just to walk around throwing stuff in the basket.

I'm gearing up for fall myself. It'll be here soon.

Glad you enjoyed Wednesday - sounds good to me.

Yes, Fall is just around the corner.

Some of the best pumpkins we ever grew, were volunteer, around the patio, where the kids carved their hallowe'en pumpkins, the year before!

Jen i get wore out going to the grocery right by myself. I hate going. Walmart really wears me out so I try not to go......I go to the regular grocery more. I think it is too much visual stimulation. Sensory overload.
