Summer Days
With summer coming to an end. I'm going to post some favorite things we love about this season.
- Build a sandcastle
- Bury someone in the sand
- Buy a movie projector and charge admission to view the movie that is projected on the side of your house at night. (set up chairs, couches, snack bar etc.)
- Celebrate on the beach with an ice cream fight - then dive in with your clothes on
- Cook your breakfast on an outdoor fire
- Find a field of wild flowers and sell bouquets for 5 bucks each
- Float down a slow river on a tub....this is alot of fun.
- Go boating
- Go camping on the beach
- Go far a tram ride
- Go on a rock find
- Go paddle boating
- Go swimming with all your clothes on
- Go to a classical concert outdoors
- Go to an afternoon baseball game
- Go to an outdoor café
- Go to the beach with sandwiches and a fantastic friend
- Go to your nearest trampoline and bounce
- Learn a new water dive
- Learn to throw a boomerang
- Look for sand dollars and shells at a beach
- On a super hot day, get a kiddy wading pool - fill it up - then sit in it for most of the afternoon
- Play backgammon outdoors somewhere
- Play croquet with party beverages...this is alot of fun.
- Play some children's games
- Put up a basketball hoop
- Ride every ride at the carnival
- Set up the sprinkler
- Sign up for a summer cam...this was awesome.
- Start a herb garden or veggie garden and watch it grow all summer.
- Swim at the pool
- Swim in a lake or a river
- Watch fireflies light their bums up
- Have a water balloon fight.
- Go for a walk along the beach or a wooded path.
- See the sunrise.
- Have a picnic.
- Watch the sunset.
- Make playdoh.
- Read a chapter book aloud to your kids.
- Read a novel (something just for you!)
- Go fishing.
- Make homemade ice cream in a Ziploc bag.
- Sit outside and sip iced tea.
- Make fresh lemonade. Miller loves to do this one.
- Camp out in a tent.
- Take pictures of the kids having fun!
- Eat watermelon outside, and let the juice run all over the place!
- Walk in the grass barefoot.
- Use lotion, soap, or shampoo that smells like coconuts.
- Paint your toenails.
- Get out the kids' watercolor paints and paint a picture of summer means to you.
- Collect seashells and save them with some sand in a decorative bowl.
- Sleep in at least once.
- Hang your bed sheets outside to dry and bask in their clean sunshine smell.
- Eat strawberry shortcake.
- Get someone else to take your picture with the kids, smiling and sun-kissed.
- Write a letter to a friend and include at least three great things that have happened this summer.
- Thank someone who has helped you out.
- Eat your favorite summer fruits and berries.
- Go swimming as a family.

BUT fall is my favorite season so I am ready for that aswell!!
