Mondays at Peggy's

For Today...August 18th

Outside my Window... the sun is rising...I love sunrises they are beautiful. The start of a new day.

I am thinking... of what kind of craft me and Miller are doing today. I may have to go looking for something.

I am thankful for... MOPS....it is a wonderful ministry for moms...our awareness was this past weekend.....we are starting up a second one for working moms in the evening...please keep us in prayer.

From the kitchen... Fresh Hot biscuits and sausage for this morning......lunch will be Loaded Baked Potatoes.....Mexican Chicken Casserole and fruit for dinner

I am wearing... Grey pajama pants and a red Old navy tank

I am reading... Nothing....if you have any good books for me to go find throw them at me...I need a small but good read.

I am hoping... we get some rain this week.....end of the summer flowers need it.

I'm going..... No where today...cleaning the house. Working in the garden...I have sweet potatoes coming up.

I am hearing... the television coming on as Scott is wanting to view Sport Center before his day gets going.

Around the house... beds need stripped the house needs vacuumed and the floors mopped......laundry needs to be folded....and maybe some dusting in there too.

One of my favorite things... an ice coffee

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...gymnastics and cheer practices are this week..cooking dinner for a friend who just bought a new home...lunch with a friend....our dog has a vet appointment....grocery week....Miller has a hair appointement and one day we will run around with momma.

For more of these wonderful day books....go on over to see Peggy at The Simple Woman....you wont want to miss this!

Mexican Chicken Casserole sounds so yummy. Would you mind posting the recipe? Or you could email it to me. My email is on my blog.

Thanks girl!

p.s. I can't get over this wonderful weather! September will probably be just as good or better. You are right though, we need some rain. My pastures are burning up.
Sounds like a busy fulfilling week. Have a great one. :)

Loved your menu! I'd like the recipe also. We had rain Friday, the first of significance since May.

MOPS is such a wonderful ministry. It was such a blessing to me when I moved to a new state, my husband was deployed and I knew no-one. A fellow Navy spouse I met at a Family Support Group meeting invited me to MOPS and I so enjoyed the fellowship, the crafts and the informational meetings. Happy, happy times.

Sounds like a very nice day. =)

As for books to read, I've really enjoyed reading a mystery series by Joanne Fluke. You can check them out at here web site:

They are not difficult to read or have any gore in them. Just a good read. And each book is loaded with recipes.

Great, easy reads I've recently discovered: Elizabeth Peters for short, fun, well written Egyptian mysteries, featuring Amelia Peabody, the world's coolest Egyptologist/ sleuthing mom. Anne Perry for short Victorian novels, with deeply drawn characters and plots, also with a husband/wife sleuthing team.

&:o) Loved your Simple Woman Monday post! Blessings to you today!

Thanks for all your encouraging comments to me as well.

Hi. I enjoyed your Daybook. I hope all goes well for your working moms' MOPS. Your menu sounds delicious! My favorite quick read is "Playing by Heart" by Deborah Raney. I found it at our public library, then I liked it so much I bought my own copy. Amazon.com sells them.

Have a great week!

Iced coffee does sound good. Lately it's been cool enough for the morning cup to be hot and warm enough during the day to drink Iced Tea.
Lately I've put cold coffee, milk, ice and maybe chocolate or some other flavor and putting it all in the blender to blend...sorta yummy! If I really splurge, maybe a scoop of frozen vanilla yogurt,
