The road to recovery...hopefully

I just loved this picture.......it is so cold here..it's nice to look at this picture. It was 20 here this morning....15 yesterday.....it's crazy!

Miller is doing better...although he didn't sleep very well last night. He is however coughing that crud up. And his nose is running like a faucet. He wont take his medicine...he is gagging it up and vomiting...any suggestions anyone? He is doing better on the breathing treatments...they end tomorrow morning. My mom is helping me out alot..what would we do without our moms?

I'm supposed to go to Nashville with friends this weekend Christmas shopping. 5 couples actually. This has been planned for about 9 months...so say a prayer Miller gets well fast..which he is on the road to recovery no more fever....yahoo.....and that we can still head out Saturday. Miller and Madison are supposed to stay with my mom....moms are great!

I'm making Salmon Patties tonight....turnip greens....and mac & cheese. Maybe we might make Christmas Cookies today depending on how Miller is feeling. I need a new cookie cutter.....

Well, this is short today.....hope you all are well.

Oh, poor baby! I never did see your post yesterday!! I just went back and read it. I have to say that breathing treatments and steroids are no fun! And they are NOT conducive to sleep! I do breathing treatments for my asthma sometimes and they just make you feel like your insides have been invaded by jumping beans! And steroids keep me awake, too! I don't think there is anything you can really do for that part, unfortunately! As for the medicine, I don't know. I've seen a sign up in the Walgreens window about adding different flavoring to kids medicine, but I haven't tried it. You might call the pharmacist and ask if you can mix it with some apple sauce or something to make it tast better. I do hope he gets better very soon!!!

I suggest adding the meds to pudding. My Sunday School teacher is a special ed teacher and they add meds to pudding and applesauce all the time.
I have a freind who waits until her son is asleep to do the final breathing treatment of the day. I have not ever done them, so i don't know if you are supposed to do that or not.
Hope he gets to feeling better.

I hope he is feeling much better today and that you get to go on your trip. Sending prayers your way!

Have you tried adding the meds to something he will eat, like pudding or yogurt or something???

I found that with my kids I had to add it to their cereal or snack and they would take it that way :)

Hope he feels better soon,
Hugs to you,
Sandra

I'm still praying for Miller. I think you have enough days until Saturday for him to get better. Poor little guy, this really stinks. I hope you get to go shopping, and I hope Miller is fine, and your right, Thank God for moms.

PS No suggestions on the meds. I have one like Miller and I can't wait to read the others suggestions. It will be good for both of us if someone comes up with one that works.

Oh gosh I hope he begins to feel better soon. I had to stop & get my girl some cold medicine before school today, too.

When does he get the tubes put in?

Hope you're able to go take care of the shopping.

I know this part is gross, all the coughing it up, but that's a good sign he's getting better. I hope you get to make your trip. I don't know about your mom but taking care of my sick grandchild doesn't bother me at all. I'd never let Krissy call in to work to stay home with a sick child when I'm right here to help her. I sure wish there was a way to avoid catching his colds, though. :-)
