The calm after the storm.

A quick update. We had a very bad ice storm here in Paducah on Tuesday night and Wednesday. We were out of power until today at noon. My home is still without power....I'm at grandma's. Hoping to have power tomorrow. It has been trying. Our trip to the mountains was canceled. We were under a state of emergency and Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel has been here. I have never seen anything like it. Over an inch and half of ice on trees. 3 inches of snow on top of it. Trees falling everywhere. I will be posting pictures when we get back home. It is like a hurricane in winter has hit us. We are safe, have heat, gasoline, and food. Life is trying due to being cooped up with Miller and Madison and Scott's 84 yr old grandma.
Pray for us.

Thank goodness you had somewhere safe to go to, Jen. I've lived through weather like this - I've actually been trapped inside my home for three whole days (twice) because the snow was over our doors and we couldn't get out. I've also seen the damage a severe ice storm does. It literally takes a month to recover from something like this and is very hard for cities and towns to clean up afterwards.

I know that 84 year old grandmas can be trying too, but sometimes they save us by virtue of the fact that they open their homes to us. :-)

I'm so glad you're at least safe, although I imagine this is extremely trying for you. Praying that this ends soon and life gets back to normal for you.

I'm so glad everything is okay with you! I've been thinking about you, and Lisa while I've been watching the news reports about the storm. I can't wait to see pictures. It sounds incredible.
