Another Year!
Happy New Year all. We had a nice time last night with friends. Great food and games and laughing and talking. Great memories to add to my life. This past year year has been a long one....2008 brought joy, sadness and truth to my life. I saw great moments and watched sad ones too. When I reflect back on this year I know in my heart God was beside me. Holding me up in bad times and laughing with me in the good ones. I look forward to this new year of 2009. I look forward to the new friendships I make, the old ones I hold dear and time well spent. One thing I learned this past year was to take it one day at a time. To not dwell on something I cannot change and hope for the best. Pray. And move on.
I started to think of my new years resolution's. I normally don't make any just try to do better with exercise and eat better. This year I have a few. Of course I will be walking the treadmill more...but these are my resolutions.
1. To live in the moment. I always plan things and want everything to be perfect. When nothing is perfect. Only God. Some things have to be planned I know. But teaching myself to relax and live in the moment will help me to have more fun with each day and enjoy it.
2. I already started this one...but need to keep myself accountable. Reading the bible and devotions. And to pray daily. With everything that goes on in our daily routines it gets a little crazy around here. So I plan to take some time each day just for me and God.
3. Date my husband. At least once a month. We have started going out again. By ourselves. No children no friends. And it is fun.
These resolutions are for me. And I'm looking forward to this new year of 2009. How many times will I write 2008 on my checks I wonder? It doesn't matter. It's a New Year and as my papaw dub would say...we made it.
Enjoy the day friends......we are having Salmon Patties, Turnip Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Spoon Bread, and Scalloped Potatoes and for dessert I was going to make a Ooey Gooey Butter Cake....but we have so many sweets in the house...I will save it for another cold day.
Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Year to you and your family, Jen!
HAPPY NEW YEAR. I am also a perfectionist and it has ruined many occasions in my life that should have been happy/fun. I am working on this as well-what a great resolution!
Thank you for the encouragement and optimistic post!
