Monday's at Peggy's

For Today...September 8

Outside my Window...the dew on the grass and the sun rising.

I am thinking...about my week.

I am thankful for...Scott's job and how lucky we are.

From the kitchen...breakfast I made sausage biscuits and for lunch we are eating out with a friend.....dinner is Digarno Pizza on the grill with a fast salad as our evening will be crazy....I'm also making frosted brownies....yum!

I am wearing...striped pajama shorts with matching tank from VS

I am reading....Journey bible devotions

I am hoping... that the week calms down and we all have a good one.

I'm going.....to the roller rink today as on Monday's they let our kids bring in their trikes and ride around while mom's hang out...then lunch with friends at the local Burger King. Later tonight.....we have a music class, a babysitting class and a game to cheer at.

I am hearing.....my dog and my mother in laws dog growl at each other...we are dog sitting and they are getting the best of me. My dog is 14 and hers is 1 so you can understand. There is no patience.

Around the house... laundry as usual. Stripping sheets on all beds. I need to mop my hard wood floors and sweep my front porch.

One of my favorite things... strawberry shortcake

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...we have gymnastics, 4 games to cheer at this week, babysitting class, 2 music classes, a nail appointment, Miller has a hair appointment, Homecoming at the local football game is Friday night so we are eating dinner with friends at our favorite Mexican place and heading over to watch, church, and maybe some laying out in the sun.

I hope you all have a great week. We have been thinking of ideas for Miller for Halloween....not sure yet. Any ideas would be great. He is 2 1/2.

Sounds like a busy week!!!

Layton is also 2 1/2 and I don't know about Miller but Layton DOES NOT like fussy clothes-lots of layers, buttons, ect...

I am going to put him in overalls and a plaid shirt and just proclaim him a farmer or scarecrow. If I do the scarecrow thing I will put on his ragged jeans and have my neighbor sew some patches on them-like wise on his shirt. I am going to put a straw hat on him for a scare crow or a cowboy hat for the farmer.

I am all for cheap costumes LOL

When my kids were toddlers, I always made their costumes based on sweatpants and sweatshirts. They were so comfy. My son's favorite was a batman costume. Black sweatpants. Gray sweatshirt that I appliqued the Batman logo on, then using black fabric, I attached a cape and hood. He never did like the hood, so I eventually took it off. He wore the sweatshirt forever. Loved having a cape on the back.

I also used white sweats and top one year, sewed black patches all over and then made a little cap with ears attached -- Dalmation.

How fun that the kids get to ride their bikes at the skating rink! A fun day for them and for the moms!

I hope you have a great week, Jen! Yikes, I guess it is time to think about costumes! I'll have to ask Benjamin what he wants to be.

Wow, sounds like you have a busy week ahead! Great daybook. Do you have any Dollar Tree stores your way? We stopped by the other day and they had play foam swords, chest vest and helmet (face open) for a knight and then had pirate seperates too; you can get all the pieces for less than 5 dollars! My kids were sad they were too big for them (me too when you look at the prices of costumes these days - LOL).

Have a great week!

What a great idea at the skating rink! Never heard of that before.

There'll be no laying out in the sun here. Expecting rain from the hurricane. It has been cloudy and cooler, which I love. I am so ready for fall. You are probably tired of hearing me say that. Sorry. :0)
