It's Derby Day !!!!

Well...it's the most exciting 2 minutes in sports history. If you are around the television about 5pm EST today tune into the 134th Kentucky Derby..The Run for the Roses Baby.

The hats are so important for us Southern Gals...getting all dolled up and sporting around our men with a beautiful fruity drink in hand.

When the horn sounds the horses make their way to the gates....I'm normally on the end of my chair at this point....with a drink of course.

And speaking of drinks here is what we are famous for in the Blue Grass state besides Bourbon....

The Mint Julep

The horses are beautiful here in Kentucky....I love to watch them

AND THEIR OFF!
This is the exciting part......yelling confused on which horse is yours...and hoping one doesn't get hurt.....

This is what they are running for The Roses....and yes they are some beautiful roses.

But in the end..only one wins and is honored .

Watch the Derby....it's only 2 minutes....I promise you will love it.

I'm pulling for Eight Belles!
Can't wait for the excitement to begin!
Cool beans! Do you guys actually go or just watch on TV? My dad is a big Derby fan. He's listened to it on the radio or watched it on TV for something like 60 years or more. He'll be watching today, he plans his day around it :)

Please keep Larry & Cindy Jones - trainers of Eight Belles in your prayers. They are good friend of ours and are devastated over losing her!
I LOVE the Derby - but I missed it today. This time change from Eastern to Mountain is completely throwing me off! Next year, right!!

I always thought it would be fun to go to the Derby. Only been to Kentucky once, to Lexington & did visit Keeneland years ago. It was a fun experience & the horses were beautiful.
