Girl Talk

So it's Thursday. The last day of school. They are spending it at Field Day. I remember Field Day. It was so exciting. Playing games all day long. Eating outside. Sweating..Running and not a care in the world.

Miller and I had a play date/Coffee date this morning at the house. It's always nice to have friends over for coffee and talk. The boys played. It is such a beautiful day outside.

Our painter is outside painting the trim and shutters on the house. I have to say hip hip hooray for this. I cannot wait for this to be done.

I need to go to the grocery. We have alot going on with school getting out and all. We are going to the pool tomorrow for the day. The weekend weather isn't supposed to be all that great.

Alot of you asked for the Strawberry Jam recipe. It is the freezer jam on the Sure Jel package. It is very good....we love it so.
Summer is coming fast. We are so excited for it's arrival. Tonight's dinner is Chicken Pot Pie and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

I hope you all have a great weekend...me and my girlfriends are going to see Sex and the City Sunday night....girls night!

I remember Field Day too, except for some reason they called it "Derby Day" at our school :) Sounds like you have a lot of fun stuff lined up - enjoy the movie and girls night out! :)

I SO remember Field Day, but it was Derby Days at our school as well. A friend of mine was talking about Outdoor Ed the other day, too. jeez. Blasts from the past!!!

Enjoy the movie. I'm going in two weeks...hopefully the hype will have died down a touch, but maybe not. I'm still not sure if I can wait that long to see it!! ;)

I forgot about field day! That was the only day you could wear shorts to school! It was more of a social event but there was a lot of sports stuff going on. We mostly walked around talking to our friends & looking at BOYS! LOL! I've made that jam before & it is good. Have fun at the pool today. I just steped out side...its 68 degrees at 5 a.m....its gonna be hot here today.

I used to love field day. My little one had it last week and the others are having it next week except my daughter who graduated high school last night and my son who is in high school. Apparently field day isn't so much fun in high school.

Thanks for the jam recipe. I will surely check the box out so I can make it too. It looked so good.

My kid's field day is not like the field day I remember. There are games, yes. But the true spirit of competition is left out. They concentrate on bean bag tosses and prop relays. I miss the 100 yard dash!
