Works for me Wednesdays

I havent done one of these in a long time......but for more ideas to help us get through everyday life go visit Shannon @ Rocks in My Dryer....

My Works for me Wednesday is about getting myself organized for this years holidays.....I have surfed for some organizing tips and found a few I would like to share.
1. First of all we have 104 days until Christmas......I know quit rolling your eyes...LOL!
2. You need a plan...make a folder for Christmas...even if its on line....start planning your meals, parties, gifts you want and gifts you need to buy for....homemade gifts, teacher & Sunday School teachers gifts, go to this website...for some inexpensive ways to to make someone smile during the holidays.
3. When you plan out your menu's.....think of casseroles you can freeze ahead of time or do Barb's Burritos for those nights you have been out and need to get dinner in a hurry.
4. Prepare now so you wont be in a pinch then. I know you have Halloween and Thanksgiving to get through... so do I.....If you do something small a day...it wont be so bad December 20th.
5. Start picking up small things at the grocery...baking goods that will stay and canned goods too, sugars.....brown, white and powdered.
6. Get your Christmas cards out and address 5 each day...you will have them done by October.
7. Start a layaway somewhere to help out with Christmas gifts.....stocking stuffers..start picking them up now.
8. Start looking at recipes...gifts that are homemade...gifts in jars are great ideas and there are alot recipes online.
9. But overall...this website has a planner.....It has a 6 week "get it together" before the holidays course.....I'm taking it...if you take it please let me know...maybe we can get through the holidays together.....
There are so many ways you can get prepared and have a laid back Christmas......I hope this helps.....

That is funny! I was just updating my Christmas notebook and I had started buying Christmas gifts so I was "trying" to print off the Christmas Master List for some reason I can't get it to work. :/ So, I'll have to wait until hubby gets home to see if he has any suggestions.

These are wonderful websites! Thank you! I have made Barb's burritos and highly recommend them. I have even made variations to suit separate tastes. It is easy to play with.

Thanks bunches!

I totally agree with you, Jen. It may be 106 days until Christmas but I'm already working on things now that I know I won't have time to do as the holidays get closer.

Great ideas!

thanks for the link on teacher gifts - I'm bookmarking that one! Kayla has a teacher, 2 assistants that are in the room, 3 therapists, and a bus driver that I plan on giving little gifts to!

I'm giving myself one more week to finish my Halloween Notebook and then it's on to Christmas! Thanks for the tip on freezing casseroles for the busy holiday season! Love Organized Christmas/Organized Home! Your tagline is fantastic!

I am with you on this! This year I am starting Oct. 1 (it's the first day of my "summer" vacation) and I plan to have a very enjoyable holiday season!

Thanks for the reminder -- Christmas will be here before we know it! I've been seeing ideas for stocking stuffers at the store, thinking I have plenty of time -- but it's not too early to begin storing them away!

You have inspired me! I'm going to start a notebook and lists this weekend. Something that I always do each year is keep an envelope marked "Christmas 200#" in my purse to capture receipts as I make my purchases.
You're so much more organized than me! I need to do something like this but think I have to get through a new baby coming next month before I can think about it....then it might be too late to be getting ahead, I'll just be trying to keep up then!
Good ideas here Jen.
ACK! Just thinking about it makes me start to perspire....
Although, I did already order my Christmas cards....

I'm watching the sales at the grocery stores so I can stock up on non-perishable items. I have some of my family coming in town to visit for an entire week! I'm so excited but I'll have to use some of your organization tips to get prepared. :)

Thanks for sharing!

You sound like me. I already started my Christmas list and even began creating my menu since I host my family's side Christmas Eve.

GREAT REMINDERS!!

Lori
I checked out that Christmas organization website - looks like it has a lot of helpful ways to get and stay organized. I am going to take from it the things I think will help me the most.
Thanks so much for putting it up - my "sanity" thanks you!!
