Activities?

School starts here in a week and a half. I can't believe it. We haven't had much of a summer with our BIG move and all. I feel for Madison. This week we are going to do things in our home town to keep her busy. Tomorrow we are going to do some local museums and the park. Thursday we are going to eat lunch at our local diner downtown and do the library. Friday I'm not sure and this weekend hit the local water park. I need to keep her busy with things so she feels I didnt want to do things with her. Being a stay at home mom is harder than it looks. By the end of the day I usually am so worn out I hit the pillow hard. Can any of you think of anything else we can do to finish this hot summer out?
Have a great day.

Oh, I think you've had a fantastic summer, Jen, and I'll bet the kids do too. Staying with Grandma all that time? Might not have been your cup of coffee but I'll bet the kids loved it.

And moving into a new home is about as exciting a thing as can happen for a child.

All the plans you have sound wonderful. I've found it doesn't take much to make kids know you want to spend time with them. I don't have to go any further than my back yard and the water hose. Doesn't matter what you do as long as you all do it together.

I personally think you've all had a fantastic summer!
I bet the kids have enjoyed the summer too! Mine were always happy just to go to the pool several times a week because we didn't have one at home so if you don't swim every day y'all might go to the pool. Or go to the zoo, that's always fun.
Rent a movie they want to see and have a movie night with popcorn and drinks.
It does seem the summer has flown by! Enjoy the rest of the time with them.

What about a picnic and a short hike somewhere. Gives you time to talk. It all sounds fun to me. School started yesterday here. I hate the early start even tho my kids are grown now.
I bet they've had an awesome summer, and a new house to boot! Makes things pretty exciting :) I think all of the stuff you've planned sounds great. No kids here, so I don't have a lot of creative suggestions! Our nieces and nephews (the younger ones) love to play in the sprinklers, and we just took the older ones to the movies. Maybe a matinee then go for ice cream? Or have a big slumber party at home, watch a DVD, pop popcorn and have a sundae bar? I must be hungry for ice cream, huh?!

Whatever it is, have fun and enjoy this time with them :)
