A shower maybe?

When is a mom supposed to get a shower? I never got one yesterday......sick kid......and this morning I had to wait until the hot water came back since Scott took a 20 minute shower and then left....I have a 14 month old that only takes one nap after lunch a day now. I cannot get into the shower and let him have full reigns of the house. So I beg and plead with Madison to hurry up and get ready so I can get a shower. I dont dare ask her before she is ready...or she wont get ready. So I make everyone breakfast.....clean it all up......get a back pack ready for school.....get everyones clothes out for the day including mine....change a diaper....or two.....make a couple of juices for Miller to drink and make sure Disney is on.....make sure beds are made.....clean out the coffee pot....lay out dinner.....and clean up cheerios off the living room floor for the fifth time since 7am. All I'am asking for is to get into the shower for 10 minutes before everyone leaves me to go off and live their life. Is this too much to ask for.......?????? So when do you all get a shower with little ones? Or do you stink?

As I read your post I was trying to remember when I took a shower when the kids were little. I'm pretty sure that I made Emily stay in the bathroom with me while I showered when she was little. I'd get her toys to play with in there (I also had a toilet lock) and she'd usually be fairly happy. I don't think I got 10 minutes though...maybe 5! But hey...it's better than stinking!! Good luck!

Jen...I dont think I was able to bathe until they were all over 16 years old. Then a shower once a week since then & they are 19, 21 & 22 now. I have heard some say that daily baths is not an option until you became a sr.citizen & then it's not needed because you never sweat! HA!!
How funny... I was just thinking about this yesterday! Hubby was home for the day and I found myself finally getting a nice, relaxing, and warm shower around 3 in the afternoon. I loved how the sun was shining in at that time... and I could take my time because Hubby had baby... then my 5 year old comes in and asks if he can have fruit snacks. Zipped me back to reality!

All that said, I will stink today. No shower in the near future.

I took Matt into the bathroom with me until he started school! It was the only way I'd get a shower.. I had a basket in my linen closet of toys he could play with when I was in the shower and he would get them out and play while I got cleaned up! Now - I come home from taking them to school, hop on the treadmill and shower afterwards! :) Soon, however, I'll be back to my old tricks, showering with company! :)

Be creative!!!

My hubby is home alot, so I can usually shower whenever i want. I have taken her in there with me during desperate measures, and before she was able to walk. So sorry you have to be stinky today. I'll think about you while I'm showering. Oh wait, that doesn't sound good. LOL. I won't be thinking about you while showering...don't worry!!!! LOL

Jen, I started taking a shower at night....I give the kids a bath and then hubby comes in and helps them with pj's etc....while he's doing that, I jump in the shower and that's it.

I don't dare try to do it during the day, I have no time and with a 3 year old, there's no way that I'm letting him run around while I try to take a shower.

I take showers before they get up. That is if I am going somewhere that day. If I don't, I just wash my face and then at night, EVERY night, I take a hot bath when the kids go to bed. That is my time. I read and just relax. THAT way, if I wake up the next day and don't take a morning shower, I am at least clean.

"Or do you stink?" That just cracked me up, Jen.

When I had two toddlers in the house, I took my showers at night after Rob got home. I just had to get over the whole "shower in the morning" thing and switch it to nights. I still like to shower at night. :-) Because I surely don't like to stink! LOL
No help here, since no little ones running around. But maybe you might want to switch to evenings, and have your hubby patrol the house while you're taking a nice, long, hot shower or bath. :)

Hope everyone is feeling better at your house soon!

I just leave the t.v on for her while I have a shower, maybe it's easier being in a apt.???she's busy with toys etc...so it works..

Hmm. Are you talking about me?

Seriously, I take a shower when I snuggle with my 3-year old and he says, "Daddy, you stink."

Maybe you can pass them off to your husband when he gets in and take a long, hot bath tonight. It's so hard with little ones. I do a lot of "night before" prep as far as backpacks, laying out clothes, packing lunches, etc. so the mornings aren't as hard for me. Both the girls are in school this year, but I'm still NOT a morning person (too many years on night shift before the kiddos). If all else fails, keep a small bottle of body spray handy and mist whenever someone comes near you.

I've made a habit of taking my showers just before bed for a long time now. Since Snuggle Bug is in bed by 8 p.m., this is never a problem. :)

Hope you have better luck getting showers. :)
Jen, More often than not, I take a shower before they get up or a bath after they go to bed. Sometimes, on the days I go to the gym, I wait until they are in school for a bit.
But, there have been days I have been known to smell a bit....

I try to get up before the kids but that doesn't always happen. So on those days I lock the top locks on all the doors (so there are no escapees)& wash at lightning fast speeds and jump out!
When my kids were really little, I wanted to take a shower/bath by myself but they would stand at the door and knock and beg to come in! I think I just showered at various times and whenever I could. It's hard when they are little. Evening might work unless you can get up a bit earlier than everyone else!

If we had this type of shower our teen would never get out! He's a shower hog.

Hey Jen, I've babyproofed the bathroom as well as I could and then shut us both in there and I just go for it. I have to shower in the morning or else I just can't wake up....I'm so not a morning person. So yes my bathroom gets destroyed but it is sooo worth it!
