the monday before Christmas

For more day books go on over to visit Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY...Monday...December 21st

Outside my window...there is frost on the roof tops. Baby Its Cold Outside, I just love that song. No school buses passing by...school is out until next year.

I am thinking...of my last minutes that have been tossed in my lap.

I am thankful for...Scott, the kids my parents and family. Good friends, neighbors and our church. Our home, Scott's job and most important.....Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

I am wearing.. a jump suit.

I am remembering...that this week will fly by. To stop take time for myself and my family...look around and enjoy the moments.

I am going... to get my hair done today. The kids are going to my moms for awhile. I have last minutes to pick up and then going to dinner with my bestest girlfriends.

I am reading...The Friends we Keep......a little book I got for my birthday.

I am hoping... that we get a little snow on Christmas Eve...it would be so nice.

On my mind... the cold I'm getting....I have a call into the doctor to nip it. I'm always sick after Christmas and this year I want to enjoy it.

From the learning rooms... just enjoying this time of year.

Noticing that...Life is so short to hold grudges or be mad or not be happy.

Pondering these words...Merry Christmas!

From the kitchen... Lasagna, house salad and bread for my parents one night, Pot Roast with carrots and green beans and rolls for my little family one night, Christmas Eve...we do heavy appetizers...mine are Buffalo Chicken Dip and Pigs in a Blanket, Christmas Morning..Eggs, bacon sausage, biscuits and gravy and fruit salad, Christmas Night...I have to bring Corn Casserole and an appetizer...Cheesy Bacon Dip with Pita chips...YUM!

What are we doing this week.....Somewhere to go each day....tomorrow..we are eating lunch with Scott's mom and going to a movie, my parents and siblings are coming over for dinner, Wedensday we are staying ho
me and making Christmas cookies and decorating them, watching Christmas movies, and then that night after our family dinner we will go look at Christmas lights, and then its the holidays.....:)

Around the house..stripping sheets on beds, sweeping floors, cleaing up bathrooms, laundry

One of my favorite things....listening to Christmas music.

From my picture journal..

I just love this picture....Our Christmas Picture!

It sounds like you and your family will be enjoying some tasty treats this week. Have a Merry Christmas.

(Psalms 46:10 is one of my favorite verses. I enjoyed the reminder as I read it.)

Thanks so much for the book info. It sounds like a great read and I can't wait to get it.

I will wish for snow for you on Christmas eve. Of course this is the biggest thing I miss around the holiday. We may be going to Alaska so that should fill me up for all the years we missed the snow.

Your menu for the week sounds so good. I am going over to your food blog and checking it out today. Are you still posting on it? I guess I will find out. Can you maybe post the lasagna recipe or have you already?

Let us know what movie you all saw. I don't get to go to the movies often, but I did see Blindside recently and it was so good.

I love this picture of your kids. Both so grown up and happy.

Sounds like a busy week, just like most of us I guess.
But you are right in that we must remember to take time for ourselves.
Thank you and Merry Christmas.
