The Christmas Photo
How many of you do a Christmas Photo? I hate to get it together. We quit paying a professional awhile back. I left totally stressed...Scott complained of getting dressed up and honestly the price was nuts. But then we found a woman who did it on the side for a great price and we grabbed her...but life goes on and she married and moved away.
So....that leads it to me. So for the past 4 years I have taken our family Christmas photo. The first year wasn't so bad....as Miller was a new born and Madison and he had matching pajamas and Madison had a Santa hat on her head. The card read look what Santa brought me for Christmas. The second year...we couldn't keep Miller still in front of my parents fireplace. You have Madison in her picture perfect pose and Miller trying to come after me in every pose.....he was a brand new one that year. The third year we did yet again a Christmas Tree pose....and it worked out...we will just say that...good enough all the aunts called loving it. Last year I actually got a good one in front of my fire place...but forgot to add the holiday scene border around it at Walmart...which totally stressed me out after printing 60 copies....no going back.
This year.....I'm done. I dressed them in red and grey with jeans....thru a blanket on the ground outside..(because we are having great weather for November) and started shooting the camera...gave them some poses...didn't really know where I was going...didn't really care...just knew I would surely get a good one somewhere in the mix. Remember Miller is now almost 4. SO he listens..................sometimes. On a good day.
I brought the camera inside last night and loaded the pictures tot he computer and pulled up Snapfish.com....and created our perfect Christmas card. It's not perfect. But its better than I imagined it would be.
I'm not sure why I get so crazy over a holiday picture...maybe its because all 60 people we send it to dissects it or maybe its wanting your kids to listen to you for 30 minutes. Or maybe its just because you want to be remember the holidays with this picture. I don't know.
Our photos are done. Hallelujah.....they are ordered and should be on my doorstep by Monday. I'm so glad its over....let the holidays begin!

As for me, I haven't given the holidays a single thought. I'll be stressed after Thanksgiving, for sure :) So much to do and not a lot of time. Oh well, it always works out one way or the other :)
