Turkey Day Orders

I got my orders Saturday on what to bring/cook for Thanksgiving lunch....here goes

* My 3 layer Coconut Cake....made from scratch.....it takes 2 days to make...but worth it.....
* Corn Casserole
* Mashed Potatoes
* Appetizer...which is a jalapeno/sweet relish on cream cheese with tortilla chips....yummy!

I'm making Sausage/Cheese muffins for breakfast that morning. We are having our carpets cleaned the morning before that so I will be in the kitchen cooking....

What do you have to make for Turkey Day?

Don't have my orders for Thanksgiving Day yet but our family reunion/thanksgiving dinner that will be on Dec 6th I am to bring a bucket of fried chicken, mostly for the kids. Any ideas anyone?
It's at my house, so we have a lot to do! The turkey came yesterday, smoked already. Trying to do dressing, brocolli casserole, sweet potatoes ahead of time. And maybe something sweet!

I'm ordering my dinner from Safeway. I know it's a bit lazy, but it's pretty good and with Dominic gone I just don't have the urge to cook a huge dinner. I will make an extra pie though since Safeway only gives you one with the meal.

I usually make pumpkin pie, and at least 1 of the vegetables. We have Thanksgiving Dinner at my Mother's house, and my sister & I usually go over early to help cook everything.

Im so excited about the holidays this year, I could just pop!

I'm very tempted to make a three layer coconut cake, too, Jen. It would be a nice addition to the pies we always have.

Your appetizer sounds delicious. I'd love to have your recipe. If this is one of those where you place the block of cream cheese on a plate and put the other stuff on top, I've done that with crab/cocktail sauce and I've done it with jalapeno jelly, but yours sounds very interesting, with the sweet relish.

my sweet mil cooks most of it-but I will be there helping her. I am going to throw together some appetizers and a dessert.

For my side of the family (we do Italian since it isn't on Thanksgiving Day) I am making a huge lasagna.

We will have chicken & dressing, green bean casserole, or green bean bundles if my family helps, lots of mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, deviled eggs, pecan & pumpkin pies and maybe a moist coconut cake. What coconut cake recipe do you use? I use one that has sour cream,sugar & frozen coocnut as the filling and has to sit for 2-3 days before cutting.

We will be having turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, jello salad w/fruit cocktail (in a mold), caesar salad, green bean casserole (with onion rings on top), rolls, candied yams, stuffing, and pie. A ridiculous amount of food, makes me hungry just thinking about it!
