Talkin

So it's 2 weeks today from Thanksgiving. I cannot believe it. Mom gave me the menu last night...my orders were to bring...mashed potatoes...corn casserole...Coconut Creme Cake...and an appetizer. So I will be cooking the day before....at least on the cake. We are having a carpets cleaned the day before Thanksgiving as well.
I do love this time of year. Miller turns 3 right after Thanksgiving. We have gotten him a Big Boy Bed....I have been looking for bedding for him. His room is done in Safari Animals....I have found some things but nothing great yet. So if you know of something that I don't know about it...let me know.
Miller and I have some things to do today. We need to run to Kohls and then grocery shop. The dreaded grocery shopping. My two times a month thing. By the time I leave I'm drained and seeing things....no really...I normaly nap that day.
We are watching our budget as it is that time of year. I scale the cabinets and look for meals before menu planning.
A few meals I came up with are....chicken pot pie, homemade pizza....breakfast...tuna casserole...now for the meals i need to buy for....roast and potatoes...sausage bean soup....hashbrown bake....spaghetti...chicken and dressing....taco casserole....the rest of the nights are either leftovers or frozen pizza...or eating out...thats it for dinners for us for 2 weeks...how did I do? I dont freeze many meals as I never have much luck with this. I enjoy cooking though. Although I'm including cleaning supplies, medicine, cards, trash bags in the mix....hopefully I can do it all under $200....fingers crossed.
I'll keep you posted....talk to you soon.

Jen, have you been to Linens n' Things at the mall yet? They are going out of business so everything is on sale. The sales aren't really good yet, maybe 20-30%. I went there last Saturday and saw lots of things I wanted but even tho they are on sale I still can't afford them!
I wish I lived closer to Kohls, it's about 100 miles from me! I am going to try to freeze some things for thanksgiving but it's easier for me since my kids are older! And I know it's things everyone likes.

Tuna casserole, huh? Me too. LOL

I freeze meals like crazy this time of year. It's so easy to just pop something out of the freezer and heat it up, when my kitchen is bogged down in holiday cooking. Things like spaghetti sauce and casseroles are so easy to freeze.

His room sounds adorable. I'll bet you could find all kinds of cute things if you Googled safari animals child's room. Krissy did Avery's nursery in safari animals, but he's a big boy now, so the stuff she got sure wouldn't work. Besides, all the backgrounds are pink. :-)
