Monday Chit Chat

This was our table on Easter at mom's. It was really nice.
We had a nice weekend. I started switching closets over. Still doing this. We went to a 40th Surprise Party on Friday night and had a great time. Saturday Scott golfed while I started on closets. Saturday night we went to a local Charity League program....supporting some friends of ours in the program. Sunday was church. Madison sang last night too.
I got a new washer and dryer...mine died last week. I wanted to thank you all for your comments on my Kitchen cabinets. I have phone call into a painter and interior decorator. Hopefully I will get some in sight this week. I did choose my counter top though...it is so pretty.
We had rain last night. The sun is poking it's way through the clouds right now. I'm getting my menu plan together...Madison will be on Spring Break in a week and I need some new breakfast and lunch ideas.....if you have any let me know. Madison and I have a day at the Spa and Salon planned...during her time off from school.....we are both looking forward to this. Scott's parents came home this past weekend. We saw them yesterday.
Tonight we have Volleyball practice. I'm Making a Creamy Chicken and Spinach dish for dinner. It is so so good. I'm going to make phone calls today and strip sheets and do some laundry. Nothing too bad today. Just rest. The body needs rest once in awhile.
For now though I hope you all have a great day. Talk to you soon.

Kitchen Ideas Please

Has anyone ever stripped and stained kitchen cabinets before? I need some in put if you have.
I have picked out counter tops and they are coming Friday to measure. Do I need to do something with my cabinets first? I'm posting pictures of my kitchen so you will have an idea....I need some advice. I like the color of my cabinets but they are needing some sprucing up. My counter tops will be the Corian tops...I haven't picked a color just yet. I have samples here. The color of my walls will stay the same....Terra cotta. Let me know what you think....thanks...you can also email me.

Spring time is coming

Spring Cleaning folks......that is what I have been doing. I'm mopping the hardwood today and bathrooms floors....cleaned windows yesterday....we can see through them now.
A friend came over for coffee this morning..she brought me a Starbucks....yum yum. We chatted.
The trees in my yard are blooming they are so pretty, and I can hear people mowing. I love spring time. A new beginning. One thing that has not gone my way....my beloved dryer kicked the bucket last night. So tomorrow I go shopping for a new washer and dryer. Unfortunately. Life will go on. Thank God I had gotten caught up on laundry and Madison had jeans to wear...because she may have fallen apart with out them.
I'm running errands tomorrow. I have a dentist appointment and a nail appointment. And I need to find a new washer/dryer of course...and alot of you asked about my kitchen re model. I'm having new counter tops put down and a new sink. Along with stripping the cabinets and re staining them. So a major project in the works coming up next month. We are also having the trim work outside re painted along with shutters and getting a new front door and new back door....hooray!
Alot going on around here as usual. Madison has gymnastics and Scott has a volleyball game at church tonight. Biggest Loser is on....we love this show....go go girls.
I finally caught up with most of my blog lines.... that about wore me out.
For dinner tonight I'm making Chicken and Dressing.....and fruit salad. We'll have enough for leftovers tomorrow night. I hope you all have a great Spring day!

Our Easter

We had a great Easter. This is me and Scott...look at my new shoes..I'm so excited about these.

My 2 good looking men. Miller was supposed to wear a 4 piece suit and we returned it after learning a friend had the same outfit. So we found this one and he even had on a tie..isn't he cute...and Scott looks pretty good himself.

Here we are the ladies. Madison loved her dress this year. We awoke to 30 degree weather so she wore her black shrug. She looked great though.

See his tie? Oh my gosh he is so cute.

Today I have cleaning to do. I neglected the house this weekend. We were gone so much. We had Egg hunts and dinners out and dinners with family. We had last minute shopping (for my new shoes) and we are just so tired now. SO today and tomorrow we clean and rest and re focus on spring. Although this morning we had frost on the ground. (crazy weather)
Report cards go out today. We should do well. We have Volleyball practice tonight. Their team is doing really well. I'm making a Taco Bake with salad for dinner. I made the household ham biscuits from leftover ham from yesterday's Easter dinner. They loved them.
Cleaning today will be in the bathrooms. And mopping floors. I also need to sweep my porch. A clean porch makes me feel good. I still need a wreath though. I have nothing up.
We have someone coming out to measure my kitchen counter tops this week. I cannot wait. A kitchen make over will be nice.
I have over 300 in bloglines ready to read and so I will start that today. It may take me a couple of days so hang in there with me. That's it for me...have a great Monday.

Some chit chat

It's been one crazy week. My dad was on a golf trip with friends. So mom and I went almost everyday this past week. We shopped...did Easter Baskets and ran all day long. For 2 days. We had our MOPS meeting yesterday and I'm totally exhausted. Madison played volleyball last night and won all 3 games. My sister and brother went to the game which was very exciting for Madison.
I haven't cooked in 2 days...shocking I know. And am not cooking tonight. We are going out with the family for dinner. Tomorrow we have an Easter Egg Hunt at church and errands to run.
I'm going to the grocery today. Miller has a hair cut appointment. And I have laundry to fold. Beds to make and bathrooms to try and salvage. Just too much for a Friday.

I hope you all have a nice relaxing Easter. I'll see you Monday.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. I have been up since 6am. Scott and I started exercising this morning...sit ups and walking. We always start getting into shape in March. Something about spring time coming...then summer then bathing suits...so that is what motivates me..bathing suits.
So Madison is off to school and they are having spring pictures made today....on St Patrick's Day. Crazy I know. She wore red. She said she wasn't wearing green for school pictures. I really don't blame her. Miller is watching Winnie the Pooh and Springtime Too....it's Movie Time Monday on Disney Channel and they always have the cutest movies for him.
I have started laundry....4 loads to go . And mopped the kitchen floor and cleaned the kitchen. I have dinner started to put together. Dinner tonight is Chicken Broccoli Casserole with a Salad. Not sure what kind of salad just yet. But I like to get my dinners started early because by the time Madison gets home it is always crazy with homework and her activities. This way I can just pop whatever in the oven...easy for me at least. I also try to cut up celery and add peanut butte to it for the kids a snack or apples....even popcorn is a good afternoon snack.
Madison has Volleyball practice for an hour and a half tonight.
I'm also wanting to get my Spring Time wreath on my door this week. My dad is on a golf trip this week so I'm going to running around with momma.
Well....I'm off to dust my dining room and vacuum the house.....I need to tackle bathrooms....maybe Friday....have a great St Patrick's Day everyone.

Where have I been?

It's been a really busy week. Here is what has gone on.

* We went from snow to 70 degrees in a matter of days.

* We had croup..(Miller) but just for 2 days.

* Madison had her first Volleyball game...they won and were awesome.

*Our MOPS group had their Tea Party and it was so much fun. A little stressful for me as I'm Hospitality Leader....but it went over well. We love MOPS. It is such a wonderful ministry.

* My sister moved home from Peru. (3 long years) She arrived Wednesday night. We are so happy her missionary tour is over and glad she is home. They will be living about an hour from home so that is not so bad.

*We have a great weekend to look forward to . Scott and I are going to dinner with friends and no kids tonight...whoo hoo....and Saturday night we are going to our first couples Bunko. So this should be alot of fun.

* This week us and our friends planned our annual outing for the year...I love planning things so I have been busy with details. I'll let you know where we are going later. But it will be so much fun....8 couples....

* And I'm planning our family vacation on top of this.....

*Cleaning the house today...laundry and need to catch up on some shows I have missed this week.

That is where I have been. Doing life. Running and Going. I wouldn't have it any other way. I focus on what is next but I always take the time to sit and rest too. I'm having a coke right now in between cleaning rooms. It's nice.
Talk to you soon,

Snow Day

The snow finally started at around 2pm yesterday.

It kept coming down all night. It was so pretty to watch. We had Hot chocolate and watched movies.
This is our biggest snow fall yet. We haven't measured it just yet. But it is exciting.
And so beautiful to look at.

This is this morning's sunrise.....so calm and beautiful......the calm after the storm.

We will be playing in the snow today.....eating warm soup and drinking lots of Hot Chocolate and cider. We don't get this kind of weather often so today is Our Snow Day....
Have a great weekend everyone.

Backwards Style

Today is Works for Me Wednesday
The Backwards Edition. That simply means that instead of offering a tip, you ask for one, posting a question that has had you stumped, letting your readers offer advice.

Here is my question

I have a very expensive flat iron.....we paid over $100 for it...yes we are crazy. It has a build up of hairspray and color on it.....dried. Yuck I know. How can I get this off without hurting the iron itself? I have asked my hairdresser and she says I will need to buy another one....well I have owned mine for only a year...and I'm tight. So it aint happening. Please give me some advice an answer...anything.
For more questions from desperate women go see Shannon @ Rocks in my Dryer.

Monday Talk

Good Monday Morning. How are you this morning? We are all good. It has started to rain outside...and in for alot of it today.....they are even saying maybe turning over to snow tonight....I'm about to snap over the snow/sleet/ice/no school day.....

I love the photo above....if you know me.....I love old homes in the south plantations esp....and all the history that comes with it. I have gone on some tours in Mississippi and Louisiana....and they are just beautiful homes...the best time to go is in the spring or fall when everything is blooming....if you have never done this and can....I say do it.

So I'm Meal Planning today. Getting ready for the grocery this week. I'm also looking for a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie recipe.

We had a great weekend. Madison had her birthday on Saturday and it went well. She got everything she wanted. We had a nice day. The weekend was awesome here...sunny and 65-70. Just great weather and Scott was home so it made it even better. We grilled one night and had the family over for a big Italian dinner one night...so all in all it was great.

Friday I had a day to myself. My parents watched Miller and I went shopping...all day long. Had lunch with a friend and just enjoyed the beautiful day. It was great.

Today I plan on cleaning and finishing my grocery list. I have laundry to do. I so hope you have a great week. And say some prayers for Barb and Krissy @ A Chelsea Morning...Krissy is supposed to be having her baby today....

Hugs to you all.....
