Let's Talk

Good Morning. The sun is finally shining today. We had some pretty snow fall yesterday...nothing to stick..but pretty to watch. I had hot cocoa and sat next to the tree during nap time...it was nice..quiet alone time. I enjoy moments like this. I started my December devotions yesterday. Keeping myself accountable to give thanks each day and pray. Sometimes I forget to give it all to him.
Miller and I are going to put up the Christmas Decorations outside today. Hoping it goes well. Scott didn't get it done this past weekend...it was too yuck outside. We don't do Christmas decor until after Miller's birthday anyway.
Alot of you asked for my White Lightning Recipe and I posted it on my food blog.....I also posted another goody around this house in December so go check it out.
The rest of the week will be very busy. But fun busy. Christmas Parties start up for us. That is always fun.
I have done my first of two grocery shoppings for the holidays....came out right at $300 for 2 weeks which isn't bad for all I cook. I have gone over menus and things to bake...candy to make and fun stuff to make. I'm really excited about the holidays this year. Last year not so much.
Alot of you noticed my birthday is next week..thanks for the wishes already. My birthday is next Monday. Last year it sorta got forgotten but I dont really want to talk about that. This year I'm keeping it low key. Simple. Scott and I have plans. I'm happy.
On another note....Miller wont talk potty training...so I may just wait until after the holidays. There is alot of excitement going on.
I finished my decorating inside finally. I may change my tree up next year...thinking about going all red...I will need to hit the sales the day after Christmas.
I guess I have talked enough. I need to make some breakfast and get us ready and attempt the outside lights. We have a little Christmas party to attend tonight for my dear friend Kim who had Cooper....Cooper is home by the way and doing well. The party is to celebrate them...and I'm really looking forward to it.
I found a new coffee creamer...vanilla spiced rum and it is yummy...try it. Have a nice day today friends....tomorrow is my day off....lunch with friends and coffee with a friend....its going to be good.

A nice long post from you today! I love it. I have to work the day after Christmas which just isn't right. I thought for sure we would be closed that Friday. UGH! But am grateful to have a job to go to!

Sounds like nap time by the tree was nice. I will have to do this. I think next year all red tree would be pretty. I love to see the ones at the store that they decorate in different color schemes.

Okay another creamer. This one sounds right up my alley. i will give it a try.

Have fun at your Christmas party.

PS I never did potty train my 9 year old, I sent him to head start years ago and the first day he realized he was the only kid in diapers and gave them up cold turkey. I know this is the lazy way out, but what I am trying to say is don't worry if he doesn't get it right away he will sooner or later. Of course sooner for you would be nice.

I love the picture in this post. Old fashioned, ball ornaments are my favorites. We're having a warm day today -- high 60s -- and snow expected for tomorrow. I've started collecting red ornaments to go all red and white for my tree! Actually I have two trees -- one is the real family tree, the other just for the front window and I get to play and do my own thing.

I admire you for doing the house lights. There's no way I'd do that! Me and ladders do NOT like each other, so all the outside decorations are Rob's job.

As always, you have a very busy week. And you're smart not to start potty training right now. There's way too much going on for the next few weeks to add that into the mix.

Enjoy your day off tomorrow, Jen. I'm certainly enjoying my whole week off. :-)
