Christmas things

Well...we had an ice storm come visit us on Monday night. The streets are still bad. We got 1/4 inch of ice and some dusting of snow. Schools were canceled. And are today too. So we made all kinds of candy yesterday...Caramel Rice Krispie Treats....Fudge...Banana Sour Cream Bread...White Chocolate cranberries with pecans and and candy coated pecans....I still need to make some other things....but today we are venturing out. Miller is going to mom's and Madison and I are headed out to finish up some loose ties. Some shopping, some more ribbon to buy for presents, a run by the post office to mail some cards, a candy delivery to make....and a trip to the library if its open.
I made a big pot of veggie soup last night and it was so good. We had bread with it...and our sweets for dessert.
Christmas is almost here...unreal. We have two traditions with our little family that are coming up....this Friday night we are getting out our favorite Christmas movies....I'm making a Taco Bar for the kids and popping popcorn and we are hanging out in the family room all night...sleeping bags and all.
Then next Monday night we are getting in our pajamas with hot chocolate and taking the kids to look at Christmas lights...we love this one.
Well....that is about all.....I hope you all have a great day...talk to you soon.

Oooh, I wish I had been at your house yesterday. I love your movie night tradition. How fun to have a slumber party at Christmas time. Snuggled in sleeping bags under the light of the Christmas tree. You're such a good mom. I'm staying home today, baking cookies and getting ready for my cookie exchange tomorrow. Have a good day!

Are yall going to Noble Park for the lights? I used to see some of the same lights out at Doc Hick's house. What a tradition that was!
Wow, I'd gain 10 pounds if I made all of those candies and treats! I love both of those traditions, they sound like tons of fun. Hope you guys have a great time :)
